| 10 and a bit months out, Half a medium sized red capsicum stuffed with pimped up couscous and diced halloumi cheese. Very nice indeed!
Gee, not many posts in this thread - only 1 since my post a month ago, lol. Â I love hearing what others are eating, it's kind of like my love of poring over menus :P

| I'm 9 and a half months out and I had microwave nachos. Â That was about 8 of those Mission tortilla strips with a little tomato and sweet chilli sauce, a sprinkling of grated cheese, then zapped until melty and served with about a 1/4 of an avocado, a rounded dessertspoonful of extra light sour cream and a couple of rounded dessertspoonfuls of refried beans. It was a super yummy treat! Â I probably would have eaten double that and even more prior to my sleeve. | |

| That's great news Sherie!!
It'll get easier and easier to judge how much you should be eating - and you won't always have to eat so slowly either.

| I had home-made Thai Tom Kha Gai soup (chicken and coconut soup). I didn't have soup because of being at a certain stage of my post-op (sleeved 2nd Feb) - but because it was warm, tasty, already defrosted from the freezer and only took a minute in the microwave to heat up :) Nom nom! :) | |

Do you think I could handle more foods if I did that... you see I think im scared to try other foods because I think my stomach is rejecting what I do eat but its prob more about the chewing.. what do you think ? Maybe your eating too fast/too much/both?
- Measure your portion size, so you know what crockery is what amount e.g. one ramekin I have is 1/2 cup, another 3/4.
- Use size appropriate crockery
- Use a teaspoon.
- Take a piece no larger than the size of a pencil eraser.
- Don't have distractions on e.g. TV, computer etc - eat mindfully
Now this is from my dietician:
- Chew each mouthful 40 x (!), 20 each side. (This is extremely difficult with purees!)
- Put your utensil down between mouthfuls.
- Don't load up your utensil while you are still chewing.
- Sit on your hands, or put them in your lap between mouthfuls.
- If needs be, get up and do something before having the next mouthful.
- Try not to get too hungry as this is when you eat too fast/too much
Hope this helps. | |

Lots of people report that they can't eat certain things, but that (thankfully) hasn't happened to me yet.

What about pita bread ? can you eat that ? I used to love my wraps for lunch.

| Sherie - Hmmm if you're throwing up it's probably because you're eating too much. Try serving yourself half a cup and eating with a teaspoon. Eat slowly and after the half a cup just wait 10 mins and see if you're hungry, otherwise, you may be just content with that!
For what it's worth, after my initial nausea issues, I haven't thrown up once on solid food. I make sure I don't eat too much though.

| If you have the go ahead from your surgeon / dietician then at 7 weeks I definitely would be back to normal eating Sherie. But please make sure it's been OK'ed for you. I can eat a cup too - although I've noticed others can eat much less. I'm still happy though - it's way less than what I used to be able to fit it!! | |

| Nah, not so much my favourite. Â I like most of their stuff, just not the pies and stuff that is pre made into meals. Â Â
I did notice that the cajun things from the people who make notburgers have 23 grams of protein in them, and are smaller. Â Will keep them on my go too list. Â
Good to know you can still eat quorn sausages etc. Â I wondered if they would be...like steak in a belly, hard to digest!

| I'm almost 9 months out.
Totoro, it must be the night for takeaway, lol, as I had Thai:
1/3 cup coconut rice 1/3 cup yellow curry w/ mixed veges (slightly shallow to leave more room for favourite dish, lol) 1/3 cup pad puk stirfry w/ tofu and vegetables (slightly heaped as is my favourite) Total = 3/4 cup of food. I could have fit in half a vegie spring roll too but they forgot to put them in :(
Box of Jewels - I haven't tried the Quorn schnitzel but enjoy 1 or 2 of their dippers, 1 of their sausage or 1 of their fillets with vegies or salad sometimes, or in other yummy ways too, eg; chopped on top a homemade pizza or in a mini bread roll. Â They are all a bit smaller (I think), but if schnitzel is your favourite, I would just cook it whole and then eat half for dinner and take half for lunch the next day.

| Well, I'm pre op, but I hadÂ
A quorn (fake meat) schnitzel, and a large garden salad with feta and avocado. Â It was yummy. Â I'm hoping that things go well and I can enjoy a smaller version of this post sleeve. Â
Though, it's going to be tricky to halve (quarter?) frozen portions before cooking. Â hmmmm.

| It's a cold, wet night in Sydney tonight and I've ordered home delivered Chinese. I'm going to have:
a steamed dim sim, a duck pancake and a couple of slices of BBQ pork / mongolian lamb. Yummmmo!Â
Family will have the fried rice - that's just wasted space in my little tum!

Entree: rockmelon pieces soaked in brandy and lemon juice, topped with prosciutto and prawns Main: Chicken and beans done Croatian style...think lots of sour cream Dessert: Custard slice washed down with a shot of chilled limoncello (not exactly Croatian but European...close enough)
Ahhh....gotta love mums cooking :)

| I'm 19 weeks out, and I already have cooked chicken and cooked lamb in the 'fridge.
But I had hankerings for Tom Kha Gai soup (Thai Coconut and Chicken). I have the makings... Will probably make and freeze it in prep for having easy meals made next week to come home to after having a hernia repair. I chuck in bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and water chestnuts along with other veg so I feel that the dietary fat bit is insignificant. Anyway, our bodies need fat. http://www.drperlmutter.com/dietary-fat-brain/
My dietician is still on the low-fat path so she suggested that I substitute coconut flavoured evaporated mile for the coconut milk. I'm not so fussy about going low fat, and I don't count calories as I still eat only very small amounts e.g. most days I can only manage 1 1/2 poached eggs for brekkie, which I have at about 1030 + I am extremely low carb. I've lost 27 % of my weight since surgery (2nd Feb).
