| I did a 2 hour plane trip 2 months post-op & had no problems at all... Could have done it much sooner.
If you don't feel right though, then don't do it.. You'll know when you get there :)

| I would suggest you wear those compression stockings they give you in hospital on the plane just to be sure you don't get any bloodclots. Just a precaution and some older people wear them anyway when thy fly. You should be fine though. Just check with your surgeon if not sure. Tash xx | |

| I have booked to fly to Sydney for the op and home again after 5 days. I am sure that will be much easier than a car trip of 6-7 hrs. | |

About 2 weeks after the operation, I noticed some little bumps on my back, then they started sprouting feathers.
By four weeks, I had lost enough weight to flap my wings and lift off!
I felt as if I could fly from the moment I had the operation, really.
Then I got a pet Unicorn. Ha ha love it!!! Thanks for your replies guys. So looking forward to this new chapter in my life!

| I could of flown a 3 hour flight at 5 days post op. It is major surgery, however it is keyhole surgery. If you would normally heal quickly you "should" be fine to fly well before the end of Feb. But always remember that everyone heals at different rates | |

| I did a 2 hour flight at 13 days post op, not problems what so ever.

| Hi Woodland,
I had my op done in Sydney and my surgeon wanted me to stay there for 2 weeks. We flew home at 2 weeks post op and even though it was only an hour or so flight I think at 6 weeks you should be fine. Of course everyone heals differently it just depends how comfortable you will be sitting for that period of time. Good luck with your op.

| Hello,
Just wondering how long after your sleeve op you felt you'd be able to handle a 3 hour flight?
My op is booked for 10th of Jan and we need to fly to NZ as soon as is reasonable after my op. Im thinking hopefully by the end of Feb which will be about 6 weeks post op.
What do you think?
Thanks. | |
