| I always read this thread and never think to post... Anyway, tonight I had two cheese triangles (tiropita), that I made a big batch of a few weeks ago and froze. Yum.
And my 9.30 snack was 5 slices of home made salami. Yummier!

| I'm less interested in cooking post op, for me and the family. The family gets anything I can make quick. Meat I can cook in minutes or bung in an oven. Salad from a bag with a bit of tomato thrown on top. Things I can slow cook. They are not complaining. Interestingly, I'm making less food, less on the plate for them too.
I'm the only vegetarian in the house. Tonight I microwaved a veggie sausage (linda mccartney brand) and mixed it with 1/4 of those fresh woolies brand risottos.
Today I've had a half piece of toast, an egg, and a handful of popcorn.
Probably not enough, but I was full from breakfast until at least 4pm. Not uncomfortable. Probably should have stopped eating a teaspoon before I did. It's difficult - old habits, but also - there is a need to get some nutrition in. 5 weeks and 4 days out.

Have you found that since having had the sleeve done you are more interested in cookery books and trying out new recipes? I have found that I am! And I've got a hankering to go to Asian food cooking classes, particularly Chinese and Vietnamese - I think that I could do Thai. I have even bought some books (actually quite a few) at the Op Shop! And normally I hate cooking. Probably different for you because you HAVE to cook for a family and are working as well?

| 23 days post op.
Tonight I had a tin foil pack from woolies of black bean and sweet potato taco/burrito stuff (vegetarian). Not puree, but certainly soft, while still getting to chew down on something. Really good! I topped it with cheese and a teaspoon of sour cream. Really enjoyed it. Managed 1/3rd of a cup altogether. No problem downing it.
Prior to this, I'd have easily eaten the whole packet (serves 2). Now, the packet is going to take me a few day to finish off. I might just have to freeze some.
Also found the tasty bite indian satchet/foil packets to be good. I've had dahl/lentil curry - really nice, and almost puree. I topped it with some chobani. Yum.

| I very rarely eat dinner when I'm away at work, but I do have lunch every day - yesterday's was chicken Caesar salad... The chicken was grilled, only got a few mouthfuls in, but was a nice change from the muck that's normally served on site.

| Tonights dinner: small pita bread (you know the pocket ones? I only eat the bottom half otherwise I'm too full). So on the bottom I pile chilli carne (basically mince done with taco seasoning and kidney beans), baby spinach and cheese. Nom nom nom. It's a treat, I usually try for more vegies :) | |

Bumbles, that chicken is making my mouth water.....

| I made baked ricotta in a muffin tin, with chickpeas, roasted pumpkin and tomato, and a dressing of oil/red wine vinegar and fresh mint.
I'm 18 days post surgery and I could only manage a half muffin size bit of ricotta and a couple tablespoons of the rest. It was delicious! Also, the most "solid" soft food I've had - and I'm pleased to feel restriction - i really haven't until now, with all the more sloppy stuff I've had.

| It's Chinese takeaway for us tonight. I've ordered a roast duck wonton noodle soup. With any luck, I'll manage a few pieces of duck and a wonton or two. My son can finish it off. | |

| Lazy Maisey. That's me.
Going to have a lamb chop (not sure how much that I'll actually be able to fit in!) cooked in the slow cooker (with the rest of it's mates from the package lol) with 1 can cream of tomato soup and 1 large can of chopped tomatoes. So - slack me. Not fancy and no greens. But protein. And I am craving tomatoes.
I read that average food intake at 12/12 is a cup. Approx. I am at 6/12.
I am sure that we all vary, at different times, varying amounts of intake.
For example, today for breakfast (a good couple of hours after I got up) 'cos it's so cold here, so I was more hungry, (and I am not complaining about the cold - with my health problems I simply do not tolerate the heat, so just stating), I managed the most of 2 eggs poached in the microwave (that actually comes to about 1/2 cup) over, maybe 1/2 hour? And in the ramekin after I drained the water and vinegar out that I had cooked them in, I put in natural soya sauce and sesame oil. Sometimes I can only get through 1 egg, sometimes more. Every day is different!
In the words of "Life of Brian" (Monty Python) - "we are all individuals!"

| Hi Everyone, I'm 10 months post op & Friday night is pizza & movie night at my place so I had 1 slice of homemade thin crust roast veg pizza with 1 prawn chopped up on it. Felt the same after eating it as I would have a year ago when I would have eaten 6 or 8 slices. | |

| I'll be 3 weeks post op on Monday so still in purée stage.
Made the family paprika chicken with creamy paprika sauce and blended up some of the cashew sauce, chicken breast and steamed carrots. Had 1/4 cup and was really satisfied - it was delicious!

| Yep I can easily eat a small tin of tuna on 3 vita wheats.
Guess that's still less than what I used to have though.
My colleague ate 3 WHOLE bowls of food for lunch. I just gaped in amazement.

| Hi dale, I,m a bit miffed with that too as I'm only 3 months and was told by surgeon I had a tight sleeve - but i can eat all of one of those very small tins of flavoured tuna now. I,m wondering if she ment the mid sized plain tuna tins. As I understood 1 year out we could be eating roughly 1 cup full. At present I,m about 1/3 cup of solids. Soup can be double that amount if it's thin. Guess it's all about being happy with where we are on the scales and being able to maintain long term - not tummy size. Keep happy on your journey - cheers to the inventor of the gastric sleeve. :6525:He is a legend. | |

| 12 months out, and while my dietician told me that at 12 months my stomach would be the size of a small can of tuna today for lunch I ate: 1 whole can of tuna on a square vita wheat cracker with lots of baby spinach topped with tasty cheese.
So I guess my tum IS a bit bigger, LOL
