| I'm being sleeved by Dr Daoud on 1 Feb 2010. I chose him because he seems to be the most experienced at the operation in Brisbane (that i contacted) and seems to care about the patients welfare both before and after surgery. A friend passed on good feed back given to her by a Medical student who had observed Dr Daoud in surgery mentioning his excellent surgical skills. I have been to an information evening and a Saturday support group run by his office bi-monthly. The support group is also a plus. I will be seeing the dietition recommended by Dr Daoud and Marlene on 19 Jan. Marlene from his office is also very caring and helpful. Can't wait to be sleeved. Well more can't wait for the operation to be over and in the past and all recovered and the new slimmer me emerging. Belle

| Sorry I haven't replied in a while! Now I can say it was worth it. I am over my issues and I can eat fairly normally. It was rough to start with, but I can look back and its a blip on my radar! There is a support meeting coming up I will post a date tomorrow, its on my work computer. Never doubt what you are doing, you are about to embark on a life chaning journey. 6 months ago I was wearing a 22 today I am in a 14. Its amazing, check out my gallery for some before and during pics! Good luck for your surgery, it will be worth it! | |

| Hi Susieq,
I'm so glad to hear how good your experience has been. Three days to go for me and then I'm away for two week on holidays recovering. As soon as I'm back I'll post all about my experience in my Dairy. I will try to get to the next group meeting, I think it's in late October.
Thanks JayNay | |

| I am being sleeved by Dr Daoud on 2 November. He has already taken my band out, done a endoscopy and colonoscopy. With both of these procedures Dr Daoud was fantastic, I have found him so easy to talk to compared to the surgeon I was seeing prior to Dr Daoud.
I have been to the support group mentioned and found the people easy to talk to and so supportive and willing to share their experiences...I would recommend anyone to go to this group so they to can meet other people who have had WLS.
I am scared of the surgery, especially as I have had a band that did not work, but the end result is what I am focussing on, everone's experience following the surgery is different. I plan to be positive and believe that there will be no problems or if there are problems they will not be ones that I cannot manage.
One of the main things that I got from the group was that following the surgery there is a time that you will need to adjsut to what and how you eat but that this passes in time and you do adjust to what you can eat.
Good luck with the surgery, I look forward to hearing how you go.

| Hi Lib
Just read through a lot of your posts. Now I'm not so sure about Dr. Daoud. Marlene said that all the patients love him - your experience has me scared. Do you regret having the sleeve done. Not sure If I'm mentally ready for the recovery period.
Thanks | |

| I was done by Dr Daoud on the 20th April. Search my posts and you might get some idea into my aftercare.
There is a support group meeting for post and pre sleevers on at the sunnybank on 29th at 10am. Ring his office for any more details. Its great to talk to his patients and get their feedback too.

| Hi - Being sleeved by Dr. Daoud (Greenslopes Hospital) next month. Just wondering if anyone else was sleeved by him and what their experience was like. So far it has been all good for me. Really scared so would love to chat to anyone who has gone through the operation that will be done at Sunnybank hospital - not sure what to expect.
Thanks | |
