| Hey Rach
Who's doing your surgery in Melbourne ?
Good luck with everything, there's some idiots on here (like me :P) but the majority of us are pretty sane and helpful.

| Thank you, it is so good to be on here and able to chat to you experienced 'sleevees'. I am trying to get a bit fitter before the op in the hopes that it will help with recovery and weight loss. Walking 6-7km a night 4/5 times a week. Not a bad start. Feeling so motivated already at the tiny bit of weight I can see coming off and can only imagine how exciting it will be when it is falling off me. Can't wait to hear all your stories - thanks again, Rachel | |

| Welcome RachelMary Like Angelmystique and Kate said, you have definitely come to the right place.. So many wonderful people on here to offer you encouragement and support, and willing to share their experience. Best of luck for your upcoming surgery! I had mine last week so am pretty fresh out and doing fine, but my advice is follow the doctor's instructions and you will do great. Everyone has had their own unique experience with the surgery; personally I came through it pretty easily without too much drama. Of course it's a big deal, but my way of coping with the impending surgery was to keep myself really busy so that I didn't think too much about it beforehand, because I didn't want to stress about it or become scared. Of course it's a personal thing, but I focussed on all the reasons why I was having the surgery ie to lower my chances of an early death, to move more freely, and basically to feel more comfortable in my own skin. We'll be here for you whenever you need to vent, or ask questions, and we will look forward to seeing you back on board after surgery. I love this forum and I'm pretty sure you will too! Take care | |
