| Ouch! I just had some fish with Laksa sauce, mild not spicy but my goodness - ouch! It feels like I just downed several slices of bread quickly with no butter or spreads ... Strange I know, if it would only come up ... the pain has also made the meal taste ick ... | |

| I used to be obsessive about always eating protein, but I've settled down now and you're right - I pretty much eat what I want. If I weigh myself and the scales have gone up, or if I want them to go down, I make different choices. My weight is pretty constant now - so this looks like it will continue to work for me. And just imagine if I actually added some exercise! Heaven forbid.
Enjoy your bikkies!!! | |

| Lol - it's funny but I don't really care what I eat any more. If it's there and meal time I'll eat it. I used to be focused on the naughty stuff (wouldn't necessarily eat it, but I would soo be thinking about it!). I should ensure the healthy stuff goes in first... | |

| Hmm... haven't written here for a while. Yesterday I ate half a cornflake bikkie, and 1/2 a mug of tomato and lentil soup. All homemade. Only managed about four drinks.
Oh wait, I also ate most of a small bag of pizza shapes, but threw them up.
Oops - keep forgetting stuff... also a tub of two fruits. Went down quite well! (Obviously didn't need the shapes straight after :/ - my bad!)

One of the things my doctor warned me about. It's about cutting our portion sizes down, not taking longer to eat the same amount. My Dr did too. At 6 weeks post op I told him how long it took me to eat a whole toasted cheese sandwich & he said it basically defeated the purpose of the sleeve. He said to eat until I felt comfortably full or finish my meal in 15 - 20 mins. I do feel hungry and frequently feel as though I could eat again in an hour after finishing a meal so I drink water or cup of tea instead.(most of the time..heheh) Yesterday was a bad day (mega annoyed at how I was treated when went for mammogram, plus hormonal) so emotional eating came into play & I ate crap from 1pm til I went to bed. Not a happy tummy today though.

| i was wondering why i'm able to eat this volume of food....?
weet-bix is very sloppy like custard or yogurt,so i suppose that could be why i'm able to eat this amount,if i was eating a burger or some chicken or pasta it would be a different story all together!
weight loss is good (for me i am thrilled)
i started out at 140kg and now am 80kg so i'm happy, still losing just not as quick as in the begining,i walk 3km's everyday too which helps a lot too with constipation....exercise is very important for a healthy digestion i found out the HARD WAY lol...:)

???? How is your weight loss tho? IMO it would be better to cut back the amount to 1-2 biscuits and shorten the time it takes. Most of my meals only take me 15 minutes. I limit myself to a bread and butter plate. I know that if I don't finish something I could go back after half an hour and eat again but don't. One of the things my doctor warned me about. It's about cutting our portion sizes down, not taking longer to eat the same amount. Trying not to sound rude here, just some advice.

| Not me sorry.
I can manage a small portion of cereal/milk and a small toast, or a sachet of porridge made with water with some milk and a few nuts added. Or one egg and half a toast. Something like that. 3 WeetBix would be a bit beyond me I think - mind you I don't wait 35 mins. But it certainly isn't unhealthy.

| I do get hungry a little at times - but not "ravenous" if you know what I mean.
I do get to a stage where I am looking forward to having something to eat.

| Subject: What have you eaten today ... Are you hungry? Thu 05 Aug 2010, 7:34 am | |
| I'm just bumping this thread as I think it is a little too far down the list and really useful to those of us in our early days.
I've had a hungry, hungry day and worried about actually being so hungry. It isn't head hunger, unfortunately I have always gotten a bit shakey when I am real need of food.
I did return to work yesterday and before that I was in between jobs (I do temping work) for two months and I was somewhat lazy ... so returning to work has been a huge change in activity levels, I also went for a little walk at lunch (15 minutes). Before returning to work I rarely got hungry ... I guess I am being paranoid after the effort of Tony Ferguson (ick, ick, ick) and the pain of the surgery I am just worried that I will lose little weight.
Does anyone else actually get hungry - like before the surgery?
Today I've had the following -
Breakfast 250 mls fruit juice & water (190 mls juice & 50 mls water) Up & Go
Morning Tea Coffee, 1/3 banana
Lunch 5 prawns & 40 g cottage cheese (eaten in two batches)
Afternoon tea 200 mls fruit juice, 1/2 banana, coffee, 100 mls chocolate custard
Dinner Apriocot Chicken & veg puree ______________________
P.S. I do realise everyone is different ...

| if you have not already tried you can try benfibre instead of using up the space on prune juice. Double up the dose it takes up no room and disolves to nothing in anything you eat or drink.
