Dr Werapitiya is doing my surgery and he seems nice. My friend had her surgery by him and she said he was great. I am in the South West tinyteddy, good luck with your doctors appointment.
Thanks Mel and sunnie :)

| Hi Gypsy Lover and welcome to the forum. You are so right about this being a friendly place and very supportive as well. It certainly helped me make my decision last year. I noticed that there has been an April Sleevers thread started last week so maybe pop on over there and meet others who are being sleeved at a similar time to you. Those that think the sleeve is the cheats way obviously have no idea about the process or the journey that we take. Good luck, your surgery date will be here before you know it.

| Welcome, and good luck on the jogging/walking.
Remember though that portion control is the key to weight loss, and that is what the sleeve will help you with. And don't think it is a cheats way out - it is just one more tool to help you get healthy.

| Hi, I recently found this site and have been reading almost non-stop. There is so much info on here (good and bad). My doctor gave me my surgery date two days ago and I haven't stopped smiling.
My surgery is 5 April and it looks like I will be spending Easter in hospital. No chocolate temptation there lol. My husband and 2 kids think the surgery is a great idea and as do my 3 closest friends (one who had the surgery last year). I will not be telling anyone else about it as so many people 'disapprove' and think its a 'cheats' way out.
My doctor told me there was no need for me to go on the optifast diet before hand but he would like me to lose 3-4kgs before the surgery. I am pumped and going out to buy some joggers (walkers lol) tomorrow.
This seems like a friendly place and I look forward to reading everyones stories.
