| So a friend suggested a phoenix. Symbolising a new beginning and all that. So I like that idea and I am now on the hunt for a nice phoenix design. | |

| Love my tatts, got 2 on each ankle, my favourite being my daughters name wrapped around a rose. My hubby & I got this as matching ones when we went on our "second" honeymoon to Thailand. The pictured one is 6 hours of ink work done in Kalgoorlie before I got married, my only regret is getting it coloured it looked so much better shaded in Black & White. It still surprises me to see the amount of women that have got ink done. It is very popular. But I dont care what anyone says, they bloody hurt LOL | |

| When I have lost my weight I want to get a tattoo that symbolises my loss and my journey. Trouble is, I have no idea what to get. I guess something to do with strength and determination. I really don't know. Would love to get some ideas from everyone. I'm thinking of a inner wrist tattoo so don't want anything too big. I already have one on the top of my left foot in memory of my Dad. I got it nearly 2 years ago. | |

My mum hates them! | |

| I love all my tattoos, and it really is a personal thing. I did not get mine to say to people look at me, I am a rule breaker, I got them cos they are pieces of art and mean important things to me, but everyone is different. I would love to see photos of everyones tattoos - share your art ladies!!!! | |

| i have 5 tattoos folks, call them erm mid life crisis
got 1 the day i turned 30 and 5 six months later. i then thought i dont want anymore. i have a small butterfly on the top of my right shoulder, my biggest is on my left shoulder, it stretches from the top of my shoulder to half way down my back. its a picture of a tigers face painted in the wings of a butterfly sitting on an orchid. i have a black outline of a butterfly entangled with a rose on my left thigh. a butterfly with a growling tigers head on my left upper chest area and a small black cougar cat on the top of my right thigh.
despite the fact my brothers and my dad had tattoos, they werent too happy when i got mine, even though i was 30 at the time. they got over it.
i did however make the decisions that with all of mine they could be covered when wearing a skirt and office shirt etc.

| My Dad, if he was here, probably would kill me too. But mine is in memory of him so hopefully he won't mind too much. I was truly "a daddy's little girl". | |

| Very pretty, Shaz! I saw your others in real life, and I admire your courage for having them done. I am too much of a sookie lala to have one, and besides that, my Dad, even though he is DEAD, would kill me if I ever got one! | |

| I have a blue rose with a celtic design running through it on the upper part of my left breast. I was alot smaller when I had it done, then put one a lot of weight and then lost 34 kg's with my lap band and now and almost 34 kgs heavier again without my band, pre sleeve and I wouldnt say that my tat changed a lot at all. I guess it changed a bit with the size of my boobs but not lot to notice anyway but they only changed two sizes anyway. More than anything over the years I'd say the colour of it has faded, other than that nothing to mention. | |

| This is my tiger tatt. It is about the 15cm round, and is on my shoulder. This another on the back of my neck. It is my kids name going across, and my hubbies name going down (Jack) Don't have a pic of my other one, it is an indian feather. I love my tattoos, and if I were richer I would have many more. | |

| Never watched the X-Fles, gottarhyme - and, like you, I fainted when I had my ears pierced - except I was 28 at the time!
Right then - yes; many things can give you cancer. As a smoker, I am aware of this. There are many articles and papers out there, but this is a potted version of what current research has turned up -

I like my ink and im a little more concerned about being overweight and that linking to many other awesome diseases/and or cancer. :)

| Aswan...did you ever see that X-Files episode when Skully got a tattoo and the ink had a hallucinogenic effect on her? She lost her inhibitions! A very good metaphor.
Shoot me now. I am officially a NERD.
I don't think I would ever be brave enough to get one. I fainted when I got my ears pierced at 16!
