What about on your chest or upper arm where you can see it but cover it.

I will warn you while feet are a good idea it hurts. I have 5 tats and the foot hurt but I still want the other one done.

I will be getting something on my wrist in the coming months I think, I want something to symbolise my marriage a few months ago.

Both of my inner forearms are completely covered, but a wrist tattoo was my very first.. And it didn't hurt.

I got a frangipani done when I was 18, and my watch still covers it now.

I'm also trying to find the best spot for a discrete tattoo, my wrist was my first thought but I'm now having seconds thoughts.. I want to be able to see it aswell, but also have it hidden if I need to..

And a sook, so preferably somewhere that won't hurt so much!!

Thanks for the reply, J. I am still thinking of a design, but want to incorporate three letters into it - to symbolize an important event in my life. It would only be small and plain-ish, as it's only of importance to me. Upon reading the www, under my wrist is a possibility (to cover with a watch).

Anywhere over bone will hurt.. Well if you've never had ink before

First question is what are you thinking of getting, how big etc ?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but am wondering where the *least* conspicuous spot would be, where I can see it, and wouldn't hurt TOO much ( not asking much LOL !)

I might get it tattooed on me some where one day. Oh lord, hubby would just die with that one. lol. I can't even remember where I saw it now, stole it from some where.

That one is not really longer than the first one you said. I like both.

That's a beautiful saying and not really long depends what type of text you want

The other one I had was long

One chance at life ~ live life with no regrets then I had the date of op under it

That sounds good. It all boils down to what you want and what is significant to you. You can get some really nice styles of writing. Around the heart area is a great idea but as I said it has to be what you're happy with.

One of my favourite sayings now, which is prob way too long for a tattoo, is:
If you want something you have never had you have to do something you have never done.
I love this, it's my new motto in life.

Kate,

I was thinking something like this

2nd chance at life (op date) as your never promised tomorrow

I was considering this either across my chest or on the left hand side above my heart region

All I want is one that represents that I have a second chance and my op date?

Prob sounds a bit too cheesy though

They are very addictive, much to my hubby's disgust. He is not happy at all, I think he's ready to trade me in for a much more conservative model.

Hi Griffo. I did. I got a phoenix tattoo on my wrist to represent a new beginning and a new life. There is another thread on here about tattoos I posted a pic in that and in my diary. I can post here again if you want or can't find the others, just let me know. It was my second tattoo and I'm just about to get another one on Friday. I'm getting an Eye Of Horus design just above my ankle.

Hi Griffo, I haven't yet had my surgery but have just got my tattoo - I have a small black rose on my inner ankle. Rose because they open up so beautifully, and that is what I am hoping will happen with me if I get a life back and the black because it is so striking!

You've had a great start on your journey, hope it continues to go well.
