| Aswan...did you ever see that X-Files episode when Skully got a tattoo and the ink had a hallucinogenic effect on her? She lost her inhibitions! A very good metaphor.
Shoot me now. I am officially a NERD.
I don't think I would ever be brave enough to get one. I fainted when I got my ears pierced at 16!

| Not knocking - I'm too much of a coward to have one! But don't any of you worry about the proven link between the inks used in tattoos (or, to be more precise, the ink carriers) and cancer? | |

| I am looking at getting a peacock feather for my next tatt.
My friend is getting a feather on her shoulder - it is a great black feather with some of the feather breaking away and 'blowing' off, as it 'blows away' the parts of the feather turn into little birds/butterflies. Looks really cool, hard to explain.
I haven't found the peacock feather that I want yet though...or where to put it.

| Thanks Michelle. I love it too. I wanted it for many years, and actually had a couple of tattooists turn me down doing it cos they thought the idea wouldn't work. My tattoo artist is a champion, he is this old scottish dude who has been tattooing since he was 14. He is hard to get into, we travel 4oo km to go see him, and to get a weekend appointment you have to book 6 months ahead. | |

| Perhaps we need to add a gallery where we can show off our art. I have three tattoos, one on my boob of a feather, one on the back of my neck which goes:
Jackson
Alex
Casey
Kristopher
with a butterfly. It is the names of my kids going across, and it says JACK goin down, which is my hubbies name.
I also have a blue tiger on my left shoulder. I am booked in in November to get my next piece, it is a dragonfly.
I love tattoos. If I could have anyone give me a tattoo I would love Chris Carver from Miami Ink, he is awesome. I have had all my done at Tribal Tattoo, rand Ink. Top service, love them.
I am hoping mine do not change to much, maybe only the one on my boob. They have shrunk.

| Kate, I have an eye of horus on my right foot. I love it!!
I also have a maori tatt on my left shoulder about as big as my outstretched hand. It in a koru design... swirly, and filled with maori symbols that represent my life.
I have a small guardian angel on my right shoulder, my nan was always giving those little gold angels to her family.
I have a butterfly with 'fairy dust' along bra line.
Hope to be fine with my tatts as the weightloss continues. Think butterfly on bra line might suffer the most.

| Hi all
this is something Ive been a bit worried about, as I have a few tatts, alas not a bogan though..
My tattooist said that somep places that 'may' be affected from dramatic weight loss are upper arms and legs and torso. But its all depending on how your skin copes.
My tattoos so far have been ok
ive got two pin up girls - one on shoulder and one down side of my leg.
heart and spades on wrist
diamond on my foot
bat and lightening bolt on thumbs
cherry behind ear
big red bows behind my knees - ive started noticing they look about lower than when I got thm done
I want a sleeve but I think that may have to wait and be my skinny me present.

| I have 4 tats, and the one that has changed the most is the one on my lower abdo. It has dramatically increased in size as I have gotten bigger!!
I have the RM Williams Bullhorns on my right outside forearm - This wont change, I wouldn't think.
I have a frog leaping over my left foot - I wouldn't think this would change
And I have a G in a star on the back of my neck at my hair line for my son.
I live in my thongs, but am not a lover of speedway or loud cars (unless it is a V8 WB ute!!) Country girl at heart!!

| Hi all,
Mine is on the top of my left foot so I don't think it will be affected by weightloss. It's in memory of my Dad. Thinking of getting something to symbolise my journey maybe when I've lost my weight. I would also like to get the eye of horus somewhere. My daughter has one on the back of her neck.

| Hey!! I've only got the flowers but want it turned into a branch! Is your branch black/grey or brown? I know black and grey is more traditional, just wonder if it'll look too harsh? I'd love to see a pic! | |

| Beckstar I have a cherry blossom branch on my right shoulder!! Lol. I'm not literally covered head to toe, but both my feet & arms & back are covered... And obviously as you get smaller I was a bit worried what they'll look like! I suppose only time will tell & plenty of touch ups I guess! | |

| I have cherry blossoms on my back right shoulder and they still seem to be in good nick after weight loss, although I plan to get them touched up and added too soon. I have a scorpion on my lower right hip, panty line who has seem to have shrunk. But its also 15 yrs old. Tattoos of my kids footprints on my inside wrists( they were born premmis so they are little footprints) weren't affected. Been planning an upper arm tat for ages but decided to wait till I've finished losing and the skin tightens up again. | |

| What a great topic!!! I LOVE TATTS ~ I LIVE IN THONGS ~ I LOVE LOUD V8s (thought I've never been lucky enough to own one) ~ I LOVE DRAGS -especially the cars that just about burst your ear drums....I have only just realised from this topic that I am an official BOGAN!!! I only have a couple of tattoos which I got when I was younger and unattached, so $$$ were mine to do what I wanted. Now we save for weddings, holidays, babies etc. etc. tattoos come last :( I have the wedjet eye (The Eye of Horus) which is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health, and I have girly butterflys tattoo. DOn't think weight loss will effect them either, sorry not much help. But eventually I want to get a full back. I will work on it, and I've been scheming for the last few years as to what to have and where. I have all these ideas in my mind - love mystical-themes so no doubt that's what I'll get. Though I don't think I'll have enough skin for all my ideas. What do you guys have/plan to get - Littlemisscee you may need a whole page if you're covered in them | |

Yes I'm out & proud - I drive the hotted up stereotypical commodore, I live for speedway anddd.... I'm covered in tattoos.
My question is... Has anybody got any, and has weight loss affected the way they look?
