| you know what guys? I thought I was hungry- but for me it wasnt my body wanting food, it was my head. When I thought about it- Ive always turned to food to get me through anything. Now, that's gone and I find that Im grieving for the food that I used to eat. Its like someone has died. The part of me that just used to go to the fridge and cupboard and just grab something/ anything is gone...... and thats a bloody hard habit to break. Im never hungry 'physically' but mentally i think i am. Ive certainly worked out that this journey is about 98% mental and about 2% physical. Im not trying to analyse how you are all feeling, Im just saying this is how it is for me on my journey. I hope this perspective might just help a little. Nat | |

| it happened to me today and i am only 5 days post op , and feel guilty it is all going so easily, but there is no doubt i feel hungar already, i drank a sanitarium up and go, seem to work for me ,
i hope i avoid the same issue in days ahead , sounds very similar to an amputee having pain in a missing limb , the brain is a powerful tool but also a creature of habit | |

| Hey NQGIRL,
Check out this link. There were times where I was just absolutely ravenous and not head hunger - that is a late evening problem for me ... Diamonds has a great explanation about "empty gut" ... it could be that you are actually hungry - in time you will be able to really tell the difference.

Congratulations on the surgery - I am sure everything will be fine.
Cheers,
Alison.

| Oh, Mel, I sympathise! Don't worry, it really does get easier when you're on 'real' food. And by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on making that first goal - fantastic news! Big hugs | |

| Oh, I do sympathise! I remember what that was like. Try chewing sugar-free gum, but have the pellets as they have crunch in them. I couldn't have got through the liquid stage without lots of sugar free gum! Best of luck - but remember, you only have to do this once, and it's only for a short time - and it's really worth it. | |
