Anyone getting their surgery done by Mr Draper? Or know of anyone?
He has done a lot of bands, and I have spoken to a few people who have been operated on by him. He has not done that many sleeves yet, but he seems to be encouraging the sleeve over the band. He & his practice are very thorough and organised so I am pleased with that :)

| Hi, I have just been to see Mr Draper. Having surgery early June (don'y know the date yet), already seen dietician, psychologist, awaiting sleep study and sleep physician in May. The staff are all lovely there, couldn't be happier. Here's hoping to a successful outcome. | |

| Hi tonez :)
I'm with GMHBA and have silver hospital cover. At the time it was the 2nd highest cover, now I think it is about the middle.
Good luck, he really is a lovely man! Let me know if you need any more information :)

Hi Nic :)
I was sleeved by Mr Draper on 24th June this year. Am so incredibly happy with the results, his team - everything!
All up I was about $3500 out of pocket after the piddly rebates from medicare and my PHI.
He charges a gap of $2750 PLUS the medicare rebate of $933.30
Asst Surgeon charges $450
Anesthetist charged $1050
Dietitian charges $400 for 8 visits (for after the op), which are claimable through your PHI. I just paid for the pre op visits
Hospital excess (mine was $250) plus Pen Private charge a fee of $25 for foxtel, internet, telephone calls etc.,
Now, you will also be charged for all blood tests, pathology, etc., whilst in hospital. It's not a huge amount but I wasn't expecting the bills for them. That was another $600 or so depending on what you need to get done.
Holler out if you need anymore information, happy to help!
Hi Meaghan If you don't mind me asking who was your PHI with and what level of cover were you on? Thanks for the heads up on the blood test too coz i was quoted approx $$4000 so i need to make sure i got all the facts & figures covered as i am claiming cost via my super..

| I went to Dr Draper intro session and he was very informative and didn't hide any facts or figures. The cost is approx $4000 but remember to ask whether that was with GST included. I have my one on one session with him on the 12 April with $140 consultation fee with a rebate of $70 from Medicare. I have a list of things to ask him but will keep yous updated how it goes.. My PHI matures 14 June yayyyyy....so more then likely i will be booking my date & time for my sleeve to be done..
PS: More news to follow :)

| Meghan, do you know what the gap or out of pocket payment is for Mr Draper? Is there a long wait to see his people? Do you know what requirements he has preop for visits to other specialists, tests etc? | |
