well i am home now... i am feeling pretty sore and sorry for myself... supposedly it onlygets better though. I was bypassed on Monday 29.11

Good luck to all of you. I'm being sleeved tomorrow also. My prayers tonight will be for all of you, the surgeons looking after us, for a speedy recovery without any complications and for a brighter, healthier & happier future for us all.

well - that was me too---- right up to the op --- and even this weekend, 5 weeks after my op, at a beautiful wedding, I had those thoughts fly through my head - but they have finally hit a brick wall in me --- coz I found out this weekend that even amongst the finest and yummiest food, in amidst the poshest company where I felt I did not fit in, I did not find the comfort I always relied on. Instead, I actaully felt happier that the food being passed around under my nose, attracting my twitching fingers, and yes, even getting to my eagerly awaiting mouth - was but a passing feeling that me and my tiny tummy could control - and felt so much happier and stronger and hopeful for my life ahead!!!! I enjoyed the bits of food I did eat, but even more I enjoyed relaxing around it too.

You will be fine - congratulations on your decision and all best wishes for your recovery and new life.

I am on my new journey and life (sleeve) as of 8.30am tomorrow morning.


Normally I am so calm and relaxed about ops, I have had 2 ceasars and the rumpus room removed without any problems plus a very quick recovery time. But this time I am a wreck. I am having mini panic attacks and petrified something may go wrong. I need a net for all the butterflies that are racing around inside.


I know that to have a healthy and long life I am doing the right thing, but the evil voice of doubt is nagging me. I have had no real concerns up until 3 hours ago. (I hope this is completely normal) I have also read hundreds of posts and success stories, which do make me feel better or at least ease some of my fears.

My family (hubby & kids) are 2000klms away, I am staying with my mum for the next two weeks (normally this is enough for me to eat out Hungry Jacks.
