| Time I am not sure but, you go to therate earlier as the sleepy dr starts first, like canulas and put you to sleep and set you up ready for the surgeon to do his bit. Then you have recovery and the likes. Most times the recovery team can contact hubby just before they take you back to the ward.
This is from my other surgeries but I can't see this being any different...

| My surgeon told me normally only 45mins - 60mins. but......
I was in for 2.5hours as after he stapled I was bleeding quite a lot along the staple line, so he did some (a lot) of needle work. Many many stitches late, taaddarrr 2 and a half hours.
He was quite annoyed that one of his surgeons told me, apparently "it's a surgery thing and there was no need for me to know, it only adds to your stress when you dont need it". I would like to think he was thinking of my best interests with this statement, lol....

| There's also the time in recovery to add to the time in actual surgery - I went in at 1:30pm and left recovery at about 6:30pm to go back to my room (although I was told a fairly decent earthquake aftershock while I was still unconscious upset the works a little haha)
Best of luck for your surgery! hope to see you on here afterwards :) ~Isis

| Thanks everyone. I can't believe I never asked! Unless it was said but it went in one ear and out the other! So much to take in! At least hubby will now know how long he has got to go put some bets on at the TAB lol

| Hi Tracey...
I think from what I was told it is only about 45-60mins.
My Anaesthetist charged for a total of 80 mins so it can't be longer than that :)
