| I have the exact same phantom 'pain', on the left hand side. I asked the surgeon & bariatric nurse and they both said it was nerve damage and it would take a long time before it was all back to normal if it ever did get completely back to normal.
I'm almost 3 months out and it's still sensitive just not as sensitive as it was just post op.

| Yep I'd suggest possible never damage or sensetivity. I had something similar, like on my legs, like it hurts to touch, but doesn't, like its hot but not.....its very hard to describe!! Mine has gone away now though. | |

| I have exaclty the same thing!!!!
If I brush my hand over it, it hurts to touch, hard to explain, but it's not related to my incisions, it's just an area on my tummy that hurts to touch.
There are no marks on my tummy either where it is sore, it feels almost a bit like sunburn, you know it hurst when things brush against it.
Strange??? | |

| Hey guys I just have a question. On my tummy, not anywhere near the incisions, i have a sore 'patch' like a section of skin that is sore to touch-it feels like im pushing on a bruise, or nerve damage. I asked my mum in law who is a nurse and she thought it could be internal bruising still coming out. Its in the area where i would imagine my tummy to be- in between my boobs, a little more to the right (slightly) and down about 15cm. Should i be concerned? I dont feel sick, ill, hot, unwell - nothing. Theres no markings on my skin, no indication anything is wrong. When i push on the sore part it feels like someone pushing on a slight bruise- but its not terribly painful and i cant feel a lump or anything. And like i said its no where near the incisions so im not sure if it is just internal healing or whatever. I dont see the surgeon until the 21st so just want your ideas on what you think it could be. Thanks Nat | |
