| This is my handy little home made pumpkin spice recipe type thing.
4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons of ground ginger 1 teaspoon of allspice 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
Mix it up, and there you go.
Obviously, it makes 8 teaspoons!

| I think pumpkin spice would be a combo of cinnamon and nutmeg. That's what my mum puts in her American style pumpkin pie, but really, I think any spices you like might be nice, eg; a bit of powdered ginger or some mixed spice. It'd be fairly interchangeable I think.
Enjoy! | |

| I am going to make these this weekend.....I need to have something that feels naughty!
What is pumpkin spice? I have never seen it in Aus, nor have I ever gone looking for it...so it might be on the shelf right next to the paprika.
I hope these satisfy some of my food cravings.

| I used chocolate, but vanilla would probably be great with the spicy flavours added. I reckon the caramel might be a goer too:P | |

| I have made these years ago when I was on my pre-op for lapband. They are super yummy and quite unbelievable that it is just made out of a boring shake. They are quite filling too and great when you want to actually 'eat' something. It is almost sinful eating the entire tray of cookies but you can do it guilt free. I will definitely be making these again for my next pre-op. Thanks for reminding me :) | |

| Wow! This sounds awesome! Think I'll try making them tomorrow. Was freaking out about what to eat to make sure I stay in ketosis (it's only day 3 pre op optifast diet) I like the sound of cookies for lunch! Probably why I'm in this predicament in the first place :-/ | |

| Oh they sound great, I'm gonna try them. I have to do the Opti fast shortly but with another brand, which should probably work out just as well. Thanks for sharing that one! M | |

| My final product I find quite delicious--hope you like it: OptiFast Cookies
¼ cup egg whites (1 large egg)
1 package Optifast shake mix
¼ tsp. cream of tartar
¼ cup Splenda
1 tsp. pumpkin spice
Pam nonstick spray
Preheat oven to 350º F.
Place egg whites in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Beat on high speed with an electric mixer or using a whisk until frothy. Add cream of tartar, splenda, and pumpkin spice. Beat on high speed until slightly stiff peaks form. Mix in Optifast shake powder. Spray pam over cookie sheet. Spoon onto cookie sheet using teaspoon and bake for 15 minutes. Makes 1 dozen cookies.Egg whites add 30 calories, 1 carbohydrate, and 6 grams protein to the Optifast mix.
