| Mama, I got this recipe in an email a few days ago too. My Dad's wife sent it to me. They said they have tried it and it's yum. Can't say I've tried it yet though. You can substitute applesauce (not our Applesauce LOL) for at least half the fat in most recipes to make them slightly healthier. I have actually tried it using 100% applesauce and no fat in some baking recipes and it worked fine. Just a suggestion if someone wants to try it. | |

| My daughter loves making this cake. The only downfall is that because it is quick and easy she makes them everyday after school. | |

| SurroundedbySleevers is also very fond of this cake (I've not tried it personally) and can provide a gluten and dairy free version. | |

| You may beg to differ but I thought this recipe was pretty cool for sleevers who want a treat but don't want a whole cake either lurking temptingly or just going stale.
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE 4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). | |
