Hi All,
Dr Michael Talbot performed my Sleeve (and Hiatis Hernia repear we did not know about until in surgery see intro notes) , he is excellent and I would recommend him to everyone. Every peace of advice he gave me was spot on. I followed everything he said (Post Op) and the results were exactly as he had advised. Dr Talbot is my Hero. | |

| Michael Talbot performed my sleeve in mid 2008 weighing almost 150kgs. I had seen several other surgeons prior to seeing Michael & his team and was not comfortable with the level of support or information they had offered. The approach from Michael's team was so different from Day 1. Friendly, approachable, helpful & understanding. Not at all intimidating. For his prowess & experience you normally expect to get a fairly pompus medico. Be surprised!! Michael is a tall thin man with a clear passion for helping those with the medical issue of morbid obesity. After years of struggling with GP's who blamed the condition on overeating finally there was someone who saw me as a person that medically could be helped, not just a less than human "fat person". Michael is down to earth, frank, funny, knowledgable, quite OK using 4 letter words in appropriate times & places, caring, not afraid to place a hand on your shoulder as a caring guesture and take time to explain whatever is required no matter how trivial it may be. You certainly don't ever get the feeling that you are being rushed out the door! Now some 68kgs lighter and with a few post operative complications I could not be happier. Remember this is not an easy way out. This decision is a life time committment and can be complicated but these problems always have to be weighed up against the critical health issues derived from morbid obesity. Michael and his team of physician's, dietician's, admin staff etc walk this journey with you lending the encouraging words to keep you on the straight & narrow... I guarantee none could have had an array of complications like mine...but I have another 20kg's to go and know that i could not have done this any other way. Thank heavans there are people like Michael Talbot to restore the faith of obese people in the medical profession. If you are thinking bariatric surgery, then Michael Talbot should be part of your decision...it will be the best decision you could make! | |

| Hi Dr T is my surgeon and I am extremely happy with him. My surgery was routine and recovery is going well. He is personable and caring but most importantly he is an excellent surgeon. I shared a room with a bypass revision patient of his who required removal of adhesions from previous surgeries (band erosion, removal and initial bypass) and he spent 1 and a half hours removing them before going on to perform the revision successfully...all laparascopically! A very skilled surgeon. | |

| I was sleeved by Dr Michael Talbot on December 8 2008. He is a great doctor and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Although I have experienced a few hiccups along the way (due to my anatomy) he has been with me, encouraging and explaining what has happened and various options open to me. I placed my trust in him fully to get me to a place of wellnes and health and that trust has been proved right. | |

| Hi Spockles,
Im being sleeved by Dr Talbot on Monday and I am very confident with him. I know 5 people who ave had the band by him and all think he is their Hero - only spoken to 1 woman who had been sleeved by him and she also was very happy..
My mum also had him for a hernia and other complicated surgery and he was fantastic - she was in ICU for a couple days and he came and met with me & my sister a couple times and was very caring and explained everything too us and what he said ran pretty much true..
Good luck with your surgery - have you got a date yet??
Cheers, Molly.. | |

| I had my first appointment with Dr Talbot yesterday which went really well. With all the information that has been provided by this site, it was very useful. He felt that I had done my research well (thanks to you all!) and I have also met a few of his patients from band/sleeve & bypass. I felt very comfortable with him and my husband was with me and he also felt very comfotable, so all in all I think for me I have chosen the right surgeon. He has done around 200 sleeves. cheers Spockles | |

| Hi Hayley Good info - thanks. I saw him at St George Public Hospital. And he operates at St George Private Hospital. I think he has patients at another location, too, but not sure where. Chris | |

| I had Dr Talbot too, and am pretty happy with him. There were a couple of communication issues, though, which muddied the waters a little. On the morning of my surgery, I was bumped up from second to first on the list. Dr T was running very late due to a traffic incident, but when he got there - even before putting down his bag - he came in to see me. That says a lot, in itself. Chris | |
