| Good Luck Jodi,
Don't forget you can add some essences like mint or strawberry to the Choc or Vanilla shakes to help with variety and cheaper than the strawberry opti.

like tickled pink, my fav was also the strawberry. I liked the choc one at the start and i put up with the vanilla(to get rid of it) but made a vanilla a week after surgery and had to tip it down the sink, i think i would have spewed if i had of had it..lol

I am being operated on the same day as you, and I have just started opti today also. I found the chocolate one ok, but the strawberry is definitely my favourite. | |

| People have flown at a week out, so a few weeks should not be an issue unless you are very unlucky. By that stage you should be fairly safe from clots.
To be on the safe side, use maddocker's suggestion of wearing your Teds as it's a few hours to Sydney. Also try to get up and walk at least a couple of times during the flight.

| When I had my follow-up appointment to see the doc to find out about the tests I'd had, I was bumped for an urgent op. I was lucky that I'd arranged a phone appointment, or it would have been a 5 hour return trip for nothing. But he went on holidays the following day, too, and I had to wait until after he came back as well. It was a very big pain in the bum, and that was just for an appointment - but it meant that I couldn't schedule the surgery, either - and then he was going away again, so I had to wait ages. But at least I didn't get as far as the hospital and get bumped! Chris | |
