| 5 weeks post op and lost 9kgs. Feel great and the sleeve is the best thing. I am now able to eat " normal " foods. I take small mouthfuls and have to remember to eat slowly. I am trying lots of different foods. Had 2 very small pieces of homemade pizza last night with 4 hot chips. Chewed slowly but loved the flavours. Haven't had any diet coke since the op and haven't missed the grog. 1/2 a sausage and salad consumed, garlic prawns were yum. Went to the pub and explained I had stomach surgery and could I have a smaller serve. No probs. Ang | |

| Fantastic, Ang - that really is cool! Congratulations!!! You're doing really well. Yes, I eat with a teaspoon sometimes, but I usually use the even smaller baby spoons! Helps me eat more slowly. Chris | |

| Thanks Chris, Went to see Dr France for my 3 week check up. He is very happy with my health and weight loss. I am now " overweight " not obese. How cool is that!! I am up to soft foods and had some fresh fish and stirfry veg. Tasted like heaven. Still have a feeling of a blockage at times and Dr said remember to chew slowly and take small spoonfuls. I eat with a teaspoon now. Life is good and the operation has been successful. Ang | |

| Hi All, Back from our beach holiday, now 16 days post op. Walking near the beach is fantastic and went at my pace. Was still on the all liquids diet while there a week. Boring menu for me when the friends were eating yummy dips, cheeses, sipping the champagne and eating at the pub. Went to the pub in second week and had pumpkin soup. Four mouthfuls and I'm done. A weird feeling not to finish the " meal ". The five scars are minimal and won't spoil the crop top look!! :5684:lol Seems like surgery was months ago. The kids and hubby have been very supportive, helping hang up the washing etc. Work next week, bugger!! Have tried yoghurt, custard and tuna mornay this week. Getting the required protein is a hassle but taking the multi vitamins and iron is ok. Got my period 13 days after surgery with no probs, so all good. Cheers,Ang | |

| Thanks for all the good wishes. My op was first off the rank Thursday. Getting ready to walk the long corridor and the emergency power comes on. OMG! Is this a sign. Not bloody likely. They can operate with a miners lamp on their heads for all I care. Had the blessed sleepy drug and slept better than in the past two weeks. Woke up. Bugger, there is pain, drips, sexy white stockings to my knees, thirst and nurses caring every few mins. All went well and now 4 days post op, seems like eons ago. Lost 3 kgs already but the optifast vegi soup Steph lent me, she can give to another unsuspecting sucker. lol Home with the kids during school hols, Going caravanning this Friday for a week. So who had surgery. Feel great. Ang | |

| Well it's all go for me. I had the sleep dr appt last week on Thurs, surgeon appt Friday, endoscopy this Monday ( all's well there) and surgery tomorrow. The time from deciding on the sleeve in July has flown by. I am now trying to get the home front organised while I am in hosp. Hubby and kids all good at getting things done. Packing my bag ( great list from the forum ) having a " last meal". Getting anxious but excited. My neighbour Steph can inform all on the forum how I go tomorrow. Will catch up onall the news when I get out of hosp. hopefully Sat. Ang | |

| LOL - try 45 years ago, and I was threatened that they'd tie my left hand up behind my back if I used it to write! I've never heard the lack of oxygen theory before, though. chris | |

| breech babies are normally left handed as well :)
Again it is just a tiny lack of oxygen at birth, nothing more than a good point to tease ones brother with in this house :) It was very very common to actually smack the left hand of a child who tried to write left handed 20 or 30 years ago at school. You could tell my son was a south paw before he was a year old he took all his food in his left hand. Tho he tends to play most sport right handed.

| Hey, Jezzy, you're not weird - I'm much the same! I was left handed as a child, but I went to a Catholic school, where they made me write right-handed, and did as much as possible to change me! So now I write with my right hand, and do a lot of things with my right hand, but I also do a lot of things left-handed. When i learned how to play tennis in my teens, I used to change hands rather than do backhand, but they stopped me doing it - don't know why, really! LOL I wasn't a twin either. And I wasn't early. In fact, I was 3 weeks late - and kept my mum in hospital until Christmas! Chris | |

| Jezzybel, my son is like you. He writes left handed but does everything else right handed. Never quite understood that. | |

| HEEEEY! I'm left handed! *pout* I'm not a twin, but my mum did go into labour 4 months early, which was halted with medical care until my due date, so the pregnancy was a bit complicated. Although, I was initially ambidextrous, and when I got to year 1 the teachers told me to choose a hand, so I went with left, but I paint / use scissors / throw balls etc. with my right. So I think I'm just weird :) | |

| Being left handed means this tiny tiny lack of oxygen when born, something that has to happen when somebody else is in front of you in the que hehehehe. It is a form of brain damage that has zero other effect on the person besides being a wonderful teasing point for his sister hehehe. Mine where born by c-section. My daughter was a footling breach no way on earth she would have got out. tho we where booked early in the peace for it as it was 10 years of infertility treatment to get them. The specilists get a little fussy and want not risks taken at all right down to a cervical stich put in to make sure the little suckers stayed put until they where allowed out hehehehe
My mum had a new 3 within 2 1/2 years as well :)

| I know I'm really lucky. But they are sports mad, they study hard for school, we are a busy house and we are all crazy when it comes to joking and mucking around. I read somewhere that laughter burns calories so perhaps I laff a little harder and a little longer than everyone else (hey, it can't hurt as a diet tool !) There simply isn't time or space for teen tantrums. Besides, we are all we have. Just us 5. All our familiy are in New Zealand so we can't afford to fall out over anything. GOD I can't wait to have 3 days in hospital just to see what it's like to have a night off kids - heh | |
