| I have almost twins - or is that almost triplets? Not, not really, but currently they are aged 15, 16, 17 - and the most beautiful, easy going, SLIM teenagers. Not as fraught as having a new born, a 9 month old and a 2 year old way back when it all started :-) | |

| OMG apple sauce, don't say the preg word. My twins are now 12 so along with an older child, I have had over the national average. I am looking forward to heading into the post menupasual range. Have been doing some research on utube and google. Not very computer savvy. Only found all these answers today.Sorry for not replying. Don't have to do the optifast before op.Hubby suggested I try eating an entree size portion for dinner. Yeah right I wouldn't be doing the surgery if I had the will power. Steph, I'm rapped with your weight loss and will pop over soon Ang | |

| ang there simply are no long term bad things that can go wrong with a sleeve. One of the main reasons for having one. With bands you can have slips and erosions months or years later. With the sleeve the only real problem that happens is a leak which can only occur in the first week or two. this is damn serious, but nobody has ever died from it. Once you get past that time frame you are set. You go on and have a normal life have babies do what ever. The only recomendation is that you DO work on that window of optitunity int he first 1 to 2 years at getting the weight off and avoid say getting pregnant, even tho it would not harm you or the baby it would harm your weight loss as such. With all weight loss surgery it is advisable to take a multivitiamn a day, and for women who still have their periods and iron tablet. But again the reality is that should be the norm for most people any way. Any questions just ask away :)

| My husband is worried about the long term effects, if any on the body after having such drastic surgery. I'm not too concerned but would like any info from other long term sleevers. What are some of the probs that can occur? | |

| Hi Ang,
I have put your op date on the calendar congratulations!!! Please dont be afraid of the endescope, you will go to sleep, they will put a scope down your throat, check out your stomach, esophegous and other things, and you will be fine. Some people say they have a bit of a sore throat after the scope, but other than that I have not heard any complaints. Please dont be afraid of it like I was. I was really really scared of it, but afterwards I realised I had nothing at all to worry about. You will have a nice snooze and wake up a bit groggy. I hope we can all put your mind at ease about whats going to happen in the next few months for you. Welcome aboard! Hayley | |
