| "its friggin freezing Mr Bigglesworth"
I dont think my hands will ever be warn again!!
But then again I had no heat rashes in my skin folds this last summer at all so the pro's still outweigh the cons for me.
Just hope I can afford the electricity bill!

| Freezing. Sitting up in bed with a cold, with the electric blanket on three, and a dressing gown on!
My hands and feet get REALLY cold, now. I need to sit near the heater all the time!

| This year I seem to be cold more than ever before, and this is pre-sleeve for me. My husband keeps telling me it is because of my poor circulation and next winter I will be warmer due to the same amount of blood flowing through a lot less body, I hope he is right otherwise I will be investing in some thermal underwear. smiles amanda | |

| First of all, thanks smurfy, I must have missed that one, but certainly getting lots of comments here. I'll check it out as I must have been writing mine post when you put it up. Neljayte, you are right, the price of now getting a sore backside when watching the footy is one that I am going to have to put up with and it will be worth it. When I come home from night shift, my DH puts my blanke on 2 to warm up the bed for me, so I think I will be telling him to put it on 3 next winter. Nothing like crawling into a warm bed after night shift, help to get to sleep quicker, especially when the temp can get to -5 some mornings. I get in the car to come home and need to take water out and put on the car to defrost the ice. The aged care facility I work is right next to a creek which seems to attract bigger frosts. So thanks one and all for your comments, just a little something to look forward to next winter. Cheers Barb | |

| Big yes from me too...i have been walking around in a ski jacket with a fur hood for weeks now....actually 3 weeks ago at my son's footy training a father walked past me ...alll zipped up with hood on ...and laughed and said seriously it is not that cold...and i said seriously it is....lol....the other day at yet another rugby gala day with my son one of the mum's said to me that she remembers me walking around in winter with hardly anything on...lol..i said yep i had lot's of insulation then....actually there is only 2 negatives of this little sleeve of mine....it is bloody freezing and the bloody seats at the footy games are so hard and hurt me bum..hehehehe.....especially if i plonk down like i used tooo.....i say we have to learn to embrase the cold (and the hard seats) becuse the positives far far outweigh the negatives....... and at Mel......your new pic is awesome...looking good !!! | My electric blanket is on 3 until I get into bed. Then I put it down to 2 and leave it on until hubby complains its too hot. At work everyone keeps saying maybe Im coming down with the flu as I have my heater on under my desk most of the day (and they dont know about the op). On a good note, Im not sweating when I clean the house anymore! | |

| Hi All, Am down 40kg+ and I am flipping freezing!!! I am getting more used to it and layering my clothes accordingly but it is so noticeable how cold I am. I hope in another year or so my core temperature sorts itself out. Still a small price to pay for dropping 5 sizes!!! On the plus side, summer this year was so much more bearable for me and I wasn't dripping the entire time or plonked in front of the air conditioner all day. xxxHuggyBear | |

| Looks like you are convincing me of that wives tale, thanks guys. Well, it looks at though I will be paying DH back for all those years of his cold feet. I thinks his is from all those years he use to smoke and got poor circulation in his feet. Maybe I will have to crank the electric blanket up to 3 when it all happens. LOL. | |

| Barbie, hi. There is an actual thread on this site somewhere in regards to feeling cold after the loss of weight; try a search. I am feeling the cold this year (Not officially winter till this Wednesay) a lot. I have asked around, dietican/GP/surgeon etc and I am told that with drastic weight loss it can take up to one/two years for the mind to catch up with the body and be acclimatised to the weather. I don't know about the old wives tale; I have heard it and it may be true but I know there are skinny ones out there that are not wearing jumpers as yet; and I want the heater on all day already. It is going to be a long long winter. On a positive note the few hot days I experienced since my op, I haven't had to/or needed the air condtioner. | |

| OMG Barb you have no idea how cold I have been. My hands and feet are like ice most of the time. I have 2 doonas on my bed, a hot water bottle, my flannos and Danny. I still can't get completely warm until around 4am. then it's almost time to get up. I have never felt the cold like this when losing weight before. bbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrr | |

| Yes, definitely. I am freezing at the moment and it is not winter yet. I hate to imagine how I will go once it is winter time. I keep asking my husband if he is colder at the moment or is it just me.
I say the old wives tale is true :D

| I am just wondering if anyone that has lost weight feel any colder. I was just thinking of the old wives tale of where people use to say, "ÿou have plenty of fat to keep you warm". I know this sounds like a strange thing to ask, but as I said, just wondering. | |

| Me too.. I am freezing, have been for a few weeks and winter hasn't hit with a vengeance as yet. I asked my GP and dietican about it; I was told by both; with rapid weight loss it takes about one to two years for the mind/body to catch up; so yes we will feel the cold much more than previously for a while longer. I have noticed though on hotter days I do not put on the air conditioner; am not feeling the heat as much as before. | |
