| Hey mandyandy im new here too. Ive also had the band and finally admitted its failed me since 2007 when i got it. I also had pnd after i had my twins in 2008 now having bipolar a result from it all.
Im booked for an appt tomorrow with dr greenslade to organise the removable of my band and getting a sleeve in the new year.... its a hard slog having the depression and being over weight cause you dont know what to treat first and it all snowballs. good luck with what ever you decide to do

| Thank you all for the warm welcome.
D'Girlz I have been reading through your diary every chance I get but am only half way through and think you are brilliant. Love reading it and look forward to reading some more of the other sleevers diaries.
Had a look in the photo albums too and WOW everything looks so great and come such a long way.
I hope this is something that will happen for me and I can great results too. But i must admit I am scared and because it is permanent I dont want to have the same issues I did with the band.
I still have a lot of research to do and find out the good the bad and the ugly so i can make a completely informed decision.

| Hi Amanda - welcome!
I was sleeved 3 & half weeks ago & have lost just over 10 kilos so far.
Like everyone else has said - check out some diaries. Another really good thread (you may need to do a search) is the "Non Scale Victory's" - reading that thread was what made me decide to do this.
Good luck! | |

| Hi Mandyandy,
Welcome to the site. I too had 65.2kgs to lose to get to my surgeons goals. I had my sleeve in Feb this year and have lost 47.4kgs. It can be done. If you want more info, look at my diary - D'Girlz Dreams. It might help explain a few things.
Best of luck and I look forward to following your journey.

| Welcome to the forum Mandyandy ... Great to hear that despite everything you haven't given up. I'm so happy I looked into getting the sleeve done and didn't throw in the towel - I couldn't believe how drastic it all sounded when I first began researching and now I can honestly say the only regret I have was not knowing about it sooner. Hope you get a chance to read through the forum to see the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to the sleeve and also go and meet with a surgeon or two so that you can make an informed decision. Good luck! | |

| Hi,
My best advise to you is look at some of the diaries.
Everything that you want to know is on here so make a coffee and settle in.
I can't believe that it is over 2 years for me and how very very different life is now.
Like I said, look at the diaries, they are a fantastic record of our progress.

| Hi Mandy - Welcome!!!
I am 7 weeks post sleeve and it is the BEST decision I have EVER made!!! I won't go into it all here but in my signature is a link to my diary - have a read, it has my ups and downs over the past 7 weeks... I would then read some other diaries too, definitely a great place to start and get a feeling of what is really going on in people's heads apart from AWESOME weight loss!!!
Enjoy reading :) xoxo | |
