| Hi, I am new to this site, but have had my surgury about 3 years ago. A friend of mine is now looking at having it, and can anyone let me know what it costs to have it done. Maybe a price with medibank private and if you dont have insurance at all. She lives in Cairns too, and finding it hard to find a surgeon as well. Can anyone help me please | |

| Just a thought; if not in PHI or if; you can get a 'Care Plan' I think it is called from your Dietician; and Medicare will give you back a % of the cost for so many costs. I have not worried about it as the refund is similar to the PHI I am in. | |

| Hi Overit,
There seems to be a big variation between what individual surgeons packages cost. I was uninsured too so understand your concerns. Why don't you call your surgeons office and ask, their practice manager should be able to give you an idea of what they charge, plus the costs for the anesthatist and hospital.

| Hi overit when you have your appointment with your surgeon, he should be able to give you a break down of what all your costs will be...I think my surgery was going to be approx 12,000-14,000 without private health cover. the price can vary from surgeon to surgeon though. all the best. | |
