| Hi Cartay,
you may have been feeling alone before but now, you wont get rid of us! welcome to one of the biggest non secret clubs around......
Glad to hear you are no longer considering the band but the VSG instead - truly life changing!
Ask around, experiences are the best learning tool.
Regards, Adam | |

| Hi there, welcome and congratulations on avoiding the lap band.
I'm pretty close in situation. Round about the same age, looked at the lap band first up. Only real difference is that I have four boys (10, 8, 6 and 3)
I've found it's really great to join the month when you will be sleeved and read the month previous. Also, read the diaries of people who have already been sleeved. Especially if they had a lap band first. There are so many of them that while I wasn't too sure about the risks of the sleeve I KNEW I was NOT getting a lap band. After a bit more research I made up my mind.
Good luck! | |

Hi Cartay
You'll never feel alone again! Everyone on here has got something to offer you - information, similar experiences, a bloody good laugh every so often and most of all friendship.

| Hi Cartay and Welcome to the site,
I had my sleeve op in Feb this year and am so happy with how it's going so far. I'm only half way to where I'd like to be but the changes in how happy I am and how I enjoy my life are already huge.
Have a good look around the site, the diaries in particular are a great resource, and there are some good hints in the pre & post-op sections to help you through. If you have any questions, ask away, there's sure to be someone who can help.
Cheers - Carrie | |

| Hi all! I am so glad to have found this site ... I've been feeling rather 'alone' on this journey, and it's wonderfully comforting to find a bunch of people going through a similar experience. I would love to chat to other people who have had/are having this done. Particularly those who are in a similar position to myself. I'm 28 and mum to an energetic 4 year old. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had intended on having a Lap-Band. The VSG is a relatively new procedure to Cairns, and I hadn't heard a great deal about it until my surgeon suggested I might be a good candidate for it. Initially I was shocked with the whole idea of it - but after a LOT of research and contemplation, I realise that this might just be the tool that I have been looking for! | |
