OK I think this is very strange and I would love to know if anyone else has had this problem or any other weird side effect from loosing so much weight.
For the last few months I have been having problems with my ears. They feel blocked (like when your on a plane) all the time. I can hear myself breathing. It is very annoying and when I exert myself (heavy breathing) its hard to hear properly.
When it first began I went to the GP and told him. After looking in my ears and not finding anything he thought that in might be sinus.
I went back to the GP last week because it's really driving me nuts and he explained that he had another patient come in that had also lost a lot of weight recently with the same symptom's. He believes that like skin that becomes droopy (flaccid) with weight loss so do the tubes in your ears/nose area. He is sending me to a specialist to get investigate further and thinks I will need Grommets.
I just think it's such a bizarre thing. Everyone keeps asking me know how my floppy ears are going. LOL
Thanks

| Interesting, don't think Ihave hearing problems as such, but have noticed my tinitis (ringing in the ear) has been particularly loud of late, but then again I haven't lost anything in six months, so don't suppose that has anything to do with it.
Becoming a nympho after sleeving, where was that thread again, sounds like me. lol

| Big WOW!!! Once again I am amazed by this site. I have had problems with my hearing the last few months but didn't think it had anything to do with anything really till I read these posts. My son just yelled at me from the kitchen so I'm not totally deaf (he's an extremely LOUD 9 year old...) I will go to the Dr and get it checked out of course but hmm.. interesting. I still like the posts about people becoming nymphos after the sleeve better. Would do more for our statistics than hearing loss ha ha ..... | |

| Hi, I get it all the time, mainly left ear. Have asked the doctor and says that there is a little fluid caught behind. I don't know if mine is from weight loss because I blew up both ear drums about 4 years ago and was putting it down to that.
What I do to fix it is take a couple of fenugreek capsules from the health food store. It dries up stuff apparently and it works a treat.
Let us know what your doctor says I would be very interested.

JayNay I wonder if the dr you saw was the same dr I saw????? He told me its from stress. Its so freaking annoying. It happens daily for me, and I get so very frustrated. He put me on meds for sinus, doesn't help. One thing that did help early on was heat packs on my ears, but that doesn't work anymore. I get it from the minute I wake up, till the minute I sit down to relax at night. I can hear my heels on the ground, and its like I am in a fog! Oh god I sympathise with you so much! My left ear is worse than my right.

| Can you equallize at all?? I had this and they had to vibrate the hell out of my ears to release them so they didn't feel blocked all the time. Now I make sure to equalize daily so it doesn't ever get yo that point again. It took 2 treatments to fix my ears. No need for grommets though?? Good luck!! | |

| Hi Jay Nay Wow, that is an unusual one! Could be just coincidence that it's both people who have lost lots of weight though - wait until you see the specialist and see what they say. Good luck with it! | |
