| hi all,
I went into youtube and looked at the op to see how it is done. Wasnt as scarey or as yuk as I imagined and all the sites that I looked at used staples. Quite interesting really, but then again, I have worked in the theatre and seen much worse, so I might be a bit desensitised. Cheers

| I'm getting six rows of staples and then they will cut up the middle. So three rows will stay with me and three rows will go with the amputated part. | |

| The stomach is stapled and cut with a stapling device leaving two rows of steel staples behind on your new tiny tummy and the excised part. Eating, LOL I thought I was reading about myself!! Oh you will feel full let me tell you. I have a piece of toast with 20 gms lite philly spread and half a small can of salmon for lunch and I thought I was going to bust. I should have only eaten 3/4's of it I am one month post-op. Good luck with your Opti and surgery. | |

| Hi everyone, I have only had my initial chat with my surgeon and had a few questions someone here might be able to answer before I see him again.
1. The stitches they put in after they remove portion of your stomach - are they permanent stitches or do they dissolve and your tummy heals itsself? Might be a silly quesion but the concept has been playing on my mind
2. I eat when I'm NOT hungry. It's my thing. I can eat anytime, any place. I really wish I didn't. So feeling full is the holy Grail for me. I can't wait to have my sleeve so I can feel full. I just don't want to eat when I'm not hungry with the sleeve like I do now. I won't be able to will I?
I think because my surgery is getting close (start opti on Monday) I'm just getting nervous....
Thank you for reading ! | |
