| Hi Denise, Welcome to the forum. I hope the sleeve works better for you than your band experience. Good luck with the liquid phase. Like FG said, I would seek advice on the post-op diet from your surgeon and / or his dietician. | |

| Hi Denise and welcome.
Ditto to what FG said. I was on fluids, anything that could fit for a straw for a fortnight but only managed one week. I was on mushies for about a week and a half and then progressed to solids. I was ahead of the game but both my surgeon and dietitian were fine with it.
I'm sure your body will let you know how fast or slow to go. Just take it easy and get as much fluids and water in as you can at this early stage.
Let us know how you get on.

| Hi Denise and welcome to the forum,
If you look through the site you will find lots of useful information. Good places to start are the post op section and the members diaries.
Did you get a dietitians sheet? Most of us do which gives us some idea what our doctor expects us to be having as in the first week or two it varies hugely with some surgeons only allowing clear fluids like stocks and broths and others allowing anything that can go through a straw. It is best to stick with what your surgeon wants as there are a number of variations on the sleeve.
Most important of all is fluid though. Sip sip sip... | |

| Hi my name is Denise, I was originally lap banded back in May 2007 but due to some unforeseen circumstances had to have the band removed on the 30th April 2009, and was sleeved on the 29th July, 2009. Heading home from hospital in the morning and was wanting any advice to what nutritional fluid I should be consuming and how much and for how long before commencing mushy stage.
Thanks Denise | |
