| Hi sssss, Caz & LoopyLu, I had a better nights sleep. I slept on my back for most of the night,my ribcage is not as sore today and I did wake up with a headache but not as bad I took some mersindol tablets today and I am feeling better,my muscles have relaxed and I am less tense. The hernia pain is still there and I guess thats where the main problem is...... Hey Luisa I will try not to wear a bra too ! lol Thanks guys | |

| Hey George,
I have had a sore ribcage on the left side since coming home. It was really hard to sleep on that side it is still tender and i am 8 weeks out. I find that if i sleep on that side for a long time it does hurt more through the day. Also it was really hard for me to wear a bra not that you will have that problem lol. I mentioned it to the doctor when i went in for my checkup he wasnt to concerned. I to had a hernia fixed.
Anyway Good Luck with your journey and i hope you are feeling much better real soon.

| I've heard that people with hernia repairs take a little longer to recover.
I hope you feel better today George. It is a slow process, but improvement happens constantly!

| Hi guy's. Thanks for all your support. I am not feeling good today, It is the worst I have felt since I came home......Been home 3 nights since I was discharged.
I have been drinking water today and I must say that I am still getting headaches but not as bad. At the moment I have a very sore ribcage, I t just came out of nowhere........It might have to do with the hernia repair i had, who knows.....I am eating ok, small amounts. I called the Dr's surgery to let them know about the headaches etc and the receptionist said that someone will call me ...but no one did...I will call again in the morning.
The bruising is slowly disappearing and isnt causing me any problems. I think I will need some time to recover from this surgery thanks to the hernia !!
Cheers

| Glad you are home and feeling better. Remember to have your water throughout the day and especially before you eat. Believe me you do not want to drink within half an hour of eating. You will feel soooo sick. Don't be afraid to take panadol if you need it. The doctors told me thats what it's there for so use it. | |

| Headaches could well be down to dehydration, so keep up the water.
But don't forget: if you were in the habit of drinking a lot of coffee (or anything caffeinated, like coke) before the op, and you've suddenly stopped, you could be getting caffeine withdrawal headaches (which are murder).
I'm not recommending you start chugging coffee again, because it's quite dehydrating, but if this could be the cause of the headaches, you might want to sip a macchiato (smallest volume I could think of) and see if the pain subsides...
If you decide then to cut out coffee, the headaches will probably persist for about 3 days, and then diminish in intensity and frequency.
Best,
Dark (a dedicated caffeine fiend)

| Hi George, Welcome Home Good to hear the bruising is getting better and fantastic news about the diabetes meds. Your headaches may be due to not getting enough fluids... a few people have had headaches when not drinking enough. If you are worried, give your doctor a call to check. Good luck with getting used to the changes, you won't regret getting the sleeve. Cheers Colleen | |

| Hi Libby,jwd145lbs , Tigga, sue, jen-e
My bruising is slowly disappearing and I am feeling great ! Easting is becoming easier and isnt uncomfortable. I am eating slow and it is coming naturally now. I am a little concerned with the amount of water I am drinking, I am not drinking as much as i should be but I am going to make an effort to drink more.
I have been getting headaches for the last few days, and i never ever had headaches in the past... My wife thinks it because i am tensing too much !!
One day at a time for me, I am so happy that I am not taking diabetes medication any longer. I am getting normal readings each and every time.
Take care and speak soon !!

| Hi George,
Welcome home and welcome to the other side, isn't it fantastic !!! Just think if you feel good now you are not going to believe how good you feel in a couple of months when you have lost even more weight.
You will read it a lot and then you will write it a lot.
I love my sleeve LOL

| Hi guy's, Home sweet home !!
Dr Loi came to see me today and was happy with my progress. He said that the bruising was one of those things that happened from time to time and that i shouldnt look at it and not to worry, it will disappear over time. It seems that the nurse who suggested I take my new undies and pyjamas off and get back into the hospital gown knew what she was talking about. The elastic in them were causing the excess bruising and with the blood thinning injections making the blood thinner i was going to bruise and swell more with the elastic tightened on my stomach and hips.
My blood sugar levels are still perfect, I am eating the puree food no problems, I am doing exactly what they have told me. I am off to see my GP tomorrow morning and my diabetes specialist on Friday to adjust / talk about medications etc
I felt a bit dizzy on the way home in the car but after a couple of hours sleep I am feeling better again.
The nurses at St George Private Hospital (North Ward) are a bunch of beautiful people who really care about the patients. I would recommend that anyone who has a choice of hospital, to choose them.
Dr Loi...............What can I say about this great man.........He has changed my life forever. He is my hero....If I have another child and he is a son, I am going to call him Loi , after Dr Loi.. I am not kidding.......
I will continue to get actively involved in this great site and I want to put back in, what I got out. This site has been a wealth of information to me and without the people on here who share their experienced with everyone, it would be a hard decision to make. The decision to have this life changing surgery was the easiest decision I have ever made and the best decision !!!
God bless you all....This is not a goodbye post, I am not going anywhere...If anyone ever wants to ask me a question, anything regarding my sleeve gastrectomy journey, please ask !!!
