| Hi all thanks for your suggestions.
I am overdue for my 6 month post op, which includes a blood test, unfortunately this time of year the Drs/surgeons and other support staff are having time off, i tried to book an appointment a few weeks ago but pretty much every time i could get away from work not all the drs/surgeons are available for that appointment. It's mean to be a 3 part appointment, Dietitian, Exercise physiologist and Bariatric gp. Next available appointment will be in the new year, just as hard to get into my regular GP.
I've started making a conscious effort to actually take my multivitamins everyday, i don't seem as exhausted, but still not back to normal. I've noticed the last few months that i'm losing more hair, having semi regular headaches, nothing horrible just annoying.
Until i can get in to talk to the Drs i'll have to up my routine with my multivitamins, i'll definitely be asking about my multivitamins, if i need to up the dose or have something else instead of or as well as. I really do hate Elevit i makes me want to gag but i can swallow it, just have to make sure i have it last thing at night on a empty stomach otherwise i will be sick, I've noticed the same effect with another one i tried for calcium, switched and haven't had the same problem.
I think i'm getting the right amount of protein, my dietitian was really happy with my meal plans last time i saw then, definitely not eating any less, probably not more though, maybe as i've almost reached my goal i should be upping it, another thing to check with the Dr.
I haven't done a sleep study, i feel like i'm sleeping better than ever, my partner liked to tease me that i snored as badly as he did, if i still snore he doesn't notice it, which is a good sign. I don't even think i toss and turn as much as i used to, i don't think sleep is the problem.
Fingers crossed its just the vitamins and my body adjusting, i can fix that :)

| Have you had an overnight hospital based sleep study done?
All the best. | |

| Definitely go and get all your bloods checked, as Greenfrog said. Other things that could cause it include -
1. A virus, such as Ross River or Dengue. 2. Hypothyroidism 3. Lack of protein (at least 60g per day) 4. Lack of calories (you should never go below 800cals, ideally aim for 1000-1200 while losing)
You really, really need to go back to your GP or surgeon and get things checked. Best of luck!

| It could be numerous things, your iron levels or B12 might be too low. Or its just your body catching up with the huge changes you have made. Does your surgeon have a follow up appointment at about 6 months? Otherwise you could go to your normal doctor and have a blood test to check everything.
I think I was also really tired around that time and went and had a blood check. My iron level were on the low side, but nothing a good multi couldnt fix. I couldn't swallow Elevit, so 'hadn't been taking it. I know take another multi with my dietician ok, since it has high level of Iron, so mine are ok-ish... not as high as they used ot be, but good enough. :)
Let us know how you go. | |

| I had my operation on the 10th of May, Leon Cohen Mercy Bariatrics.
I have had zero complications since the operation. Everything has been perfect, to date since my highest weight of 113.7kg I've lost 40kg.
I’ve never really slept well, I would always take awhile to get to sleep and wake up a few times during the night, but I never felt exhausted cause of it.
Now I fall asleep quickly, I stay asleep all night unless I'm startled awake by a noise or my dog. Yet will all that extra sleep I actually feel more tired, especially the last month than I ever did before. I admit I'm not great at taking my multivitamins (elivit) regularly, I'm meant to take calcium tablets regularly but I forget most of the time. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure prior to the operation, that’s the one tablet I never forget.
I haven't changed my routine much, food still the same, I aim for 4 small high protein meals a day, as much water as possible, exercising more now that I've got a dog. Since getting the dog we are going to bed earlier and waking up earlier but I should be used to that after more than a month, taking him for a half hour walk twice a day.
Could the lack of multivitamins be causing the exhaustion?
I’ve been meaning to have a regular check up with my GP for the blood pressure tablets to see if I need a higher or lower dose, could that be causing the issues?
Or is it common for everyone around the 6 month mark to start feeling this way?
