| When I had my band done the dietician told me to take what ever the family ate...add milk or gravy or stock to it and wizz it with the hand blender to get it to the runny or thick puree stage.
Not great if they are having toasted sandwiches...but you get the idea. I found this stage the easiest because of that reason. I would just section some out and wizz it and save some for breakfast. ( I hate cereals) this was a bonus because it was higher in protein ( wizzed up chicken and meat etc with gravy and lo carb veg)
I also found that baked beans were great with a little cheese melted through and blitzed...add a little tom soup to soften it if too pasty.
Salmon mushed together with a mashed up egg and mayo...
I have been told but have not tried, that lasagne with a little milk added and then wizzed is awesom
once you get your head around it, its fairly easy.
like someone said think baby food so what every you could put through a baby mouli you can eat too. |

| for my first two weeks on puree's i used the three ive listed earlier, weeks three and four i added beef hotpots made in the slow cooker, tuna mornay and chilli con carne minus the beans. Puree doesnt have to be bland it just has to be easy to go down and pass through our tums, the vital tips are a little goes a long way tiny serves with using a teaspoon to eat with and chew chew chew.

| I did try baby food- now I know why they cry!!!
I bought a recipe book called Knife Fork and Band and it has some very tasty recipes for the puree stage. Made some the other day and it beats baby food hands down. Look on a web site " Band Buddies"

| pureed veggies, pumpkin and potato is yum, you can even blend in a little chicken breast for that all important protein. Really well mashed potatos with over cooked cauli and then a bit of nice grilled white fish such as perch also worked for me, just remember chew chew chew. Another which was a favorite of mine was make a nice Bolg sauce using chicken mince rather than beef then blend it spoon of that on a spoon of mashed potato was heaven.
