Apra - Claiming for medical AND travel?

In WA you can apply for PATS; Patient Assisted Travel Scheme when you are required to travel (for travel & accommodation) to see a specialist which does not frequent your country town. Would you not be able to access the same in QLD? Also my PH fund will then will refund an additional amount for travel and accommodation futher to the PATS up to a certain amount which is a great assistance. I am 8 hours from my specialist surgeon. I'm a 6 hour drive from my Surgeon and I was just looking at the APRA application and its got on there about claiming for travel, can I actually claim for my costs to travel back and forth to the hospital? I know I have my first appointment, I'll then have surgery and then at least one trip back for a follow up. They are minor costs in comparison to the surgery but I'm just wondering if it would be worth claiming for?
