Hi All,
Starting to get a bit anxious now, as it is just over 2 weeks until surgery on April 29. Start on Optifast tomorrow, the first challenge. Will be interesting to find out which flavours are best and how quickly I can get over sugar, alcohol, caffeine withdrawals.
I am really looking forward to the operation so that I know it is finally happening. So that it has become reality and my new life has begun. I am bracing myself for some of the biggest challenges in my life, which is probably where the anxiety comes from. I believe the biggest challenge will be dealing with it mentally. In the past when losing weight the mental challenges become too hard and I would go back to my old ways. Back to the comfort that I thought food was to me. With the sleeve, I won't have the choice of going back, which could be an extremely difficult challenge mentally. But I am sure it will all be worth it and once through it the positivity will come through the great results achieved.
Out for dinner tonight - the "last supper". Optifast tomorrow.... Bring it on!
