| My history:
Struggled with weight all my life. Lowest weight at 17 was 60kgs my highest weight was 135 kgs. I was 103 kgs in Feb this year and now weigh 90 kgs (that sounds good but it is actually due to my diabetes being out of control - so kinda bad).
I have embryos frozen and am waiting until post surgery and they have to make sure that I am absorbing vitamins and minerals in order to be allowed to get pregnant. If you ladies would like to catch up for a coffee sometime let me know.
I am really really looking forward to the new me. So weird buying clothes and thinking "I might be a size 10 sometime in the near future.
So glad you have had excellent results you both look amazing! | |

| Hello fellow kiwi!
I had sleeve surgery in Oct last year and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. We are about the same age and height so I'm guessing that you will also have really excellent results. I think it is great that you have been accepted and I hope that you can go forth and multiply after this :) I went privately which cost a heap but like I said, it was well worth it. It will be great to kick the diabetes - from what I've heard the symptoms disappear immediately after surgery.
Keep in touch :)

| Welcome :) Im in the wairarapa and had sleeve surgery ( privately in Hastings) in August 2011 as i had problems with my heart- years ago i had to have fertility treatment to fall pregnant so I understand a bit Hope all goes well with you:) it is the best decision i have made I am 40 on August 1 and am close to my goal of 65 kilos I am also a shortie- five foot three :) I now run a lot and feel great My blood pressure, glucose levels and mobility are excellent ( i have a form of rheumatoid arthritis) It hasn't been easy but the difficulties are overshadowed by the positive difference in my life. Let me know if i can help answer any questions SG | |

| Hi all
I am 39 (40 in Nov) 5'4 1/2 and weigh 90kg and am an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. I have been through 3 rounds of IVF and had 3 miscarriages. My endochronologist and fertility specialist tag teamed me and told me that the gastric sleeve operation would be the best option for me as my diabetes would either go or be significantly reduced.
I attend the info evening on 30 July as I have been accepted into the publicly funded Gastric Sleeve programme. I am very very scared but excited too!
