| Pam what's been said about vomiting up blood? That must be a worry for you.
Have you tried soups that are a little thicker? Not quite fluid but perhaps ones that are of a texture that can stick to the spoon - a very smooth puree but not too thick? That way you're very slowly graduating from fluids. You can make lots of nice soups depending on what you like, and just blitx them into a very smooth puree, watered down if need be. Legumes could be a good idea - make some nice lentils then give them a quick blitz to puree them? You can easily water them down a little too. You could try things like yoghurts (you can get ones with no fruit bits in them), pureed fruit that comes in little tubs and is completely smooth, smooth pureed vegies etc. Smoothies are a great idea cos you can put lots of stuff in them. All of those sorts of things can be blitzed until they are completely smooth and watered down until your stomach can tolerate them.
Good luck hon. I definitely agree with what the others have said, that you should get some medical advice asap. Hang in there and let us know how you go. | |

| I go to see him again this week so will be able to ask him then. I have had some trouble with vomiting and vomiting up blood because I couldn't handle the next stage of food so I stayed on the fluid diet and I stopped vomiting up blood but I'm really keen to go to the next stage but I'm scared to try because my surgeon said he wanted me to go back to hospital if I couldn't keep anything down, but it's a 3 hour trip there so that's why I'm staying on the fluid diet. I can have a couple of different things like a crispbread with some avocado on it but it takes a while to go down. I tried have a opti slim shake but I couldn't handle that either. I'm also worried I'm not drinking enough fluid as if I try to drink too much I just bring it back up. I like having a mini calipo they help with my thirst. | |

| Hi Pam. Wow that sounds a bit rough. I really enjoyed smoothies because you can have a variety of flavours and the fibre also helps. You seem stuck on the fluid stuff a long time. Has your surgeon offered any help or explanation? | |

| Hi I had my gastric sleeve done on the 21st of march and I'm still in the free fluid type as I've had a bit of trouble eating the strained foods. Does anyone have any ideas that I could try thats between the fluids and the strained foods as I need some ideas. | |
