Thanks Everyone,

ITs just a bit scary, and the last thing i want is to be bald.... So, I guess I'll just have to keep taking all the vitamins, supplements and make sure i get my protein in. And its good to know that I'm not the only one, and that it does reverse (fingers crossed).

Thanks for all the comments, and sorry its taken me so long to respond. My computer died and was in the shop being fixed.

I have lost very little hair (touchwood). Hairdresser appointment today, advised that my hair is in better condition now than it had been 6 months ago. I have been using Biotin supplement

I had my sleeve done mid August, and my hair has been falling out for the last month or two... It doesn't seem to be slowing down yet though.

I have just had my hair cut even shorter to try and stop it a bit, there are new bits going through, but I did actually get a comment from someone that my hair was looking a bit thin near my scalp lol.

yup im just under 5 months post op and noticed in the last month or so my hair loss has steadily increased. I take hair/nail tablets on top of normal multivitamins, so good to know its quite common and should dissapear. I have quite thin hair and not much of it, so i hope it starts to slow down soon!

I had my sleeve in October too and I am having the same problem right now. After washing my hair yesterday I then used the hair dryer and by the time I was finished there was a heap of hair on the floor to clean up. It kind of freaked me out! lol..

I have read a lot of threads on it and am trying not to freak out. I had my hair cut short after surgery to help avoid major hair loss, but I have done everything I need to do to prevent hair loss, and yet it still happened (and continues too).

My hair doesn't look any different at least, and I hope it doesn't get too bad, but considering it seems to happen to everyone I am trying to keep positive! As long as you have been doing everything you are meant to, you should be fine too! :)

Hi Embelly, there is heaps of threads and discussion on here about hair loss. We all seem to go through it no matter what we do, eat, or supplements we take. I have previously always lost hair after an operation, it is due to the anesthetic. I have to say that my hair loss is worse with this surgery and more prolonged. Others have said that the hair loss stops around the 6 month post op stage. Mine has slowed down and I do have new hair growing so all is good. If you want to read more try entering hair loss in the search section.

Hair Loss??? Empty
PostSubject: Hair Loss???   Hair Loss??? EmptySun 29 Jan 2012, 11:23 am

Hi All,

I was sleeved in Oct 2011, and have noticed that I am losing a lot of hair. I have always had very very thick hair which usually drives me nuts, but I have been losing hair at a scary rate for the last few weeks. to the point that I usually have a full brush of hair come out every day. I'm taking zinc tablets, but its kind of freaking me out. Has anyone had any issues like this? I'm also trying to get my protein everyday, but know i need to start taking a shake a day to try and get my 75g a day.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Em
