| Hi Tin Ribs and welcome to the site I must have missed your original message, but there was some good advice about food there, and I hope that you worked it out. How are you feeling now? Chris | |

| hey tin ribs one thing i've learned from this site is that it seems in england our hospital support system is lacking a bit. i've also found this from my own experience. i'm sorry you've not had an easy ride with this surgery so far, but like all of us it all gets easier with a bit of patience and time, i'm about 8 weeks post op, and although i don't post that often on this site, i read it quite often, no doubt you'll find it as helpful as i have. good luck with your pain and i hope it all gets better soon kat | |

| welcome to the site tin ribs.
my dietician was quite clear that during the puree stage, the food should still drip off the back of a spoon. over 2 weeks i am supposed to gradually reduce the amount of liquid, but things should still be like baby food. by the end of the 2-3 weeks i should have built up to a soft, scrambled egg.
everything still needs to be runny, not gluggy. mashed potato mixed with chicken broth or milk with a teeny bit of fish shouldn't be too hard to get down. hopefully your pie was not encased in pastry.
just take it slowly. if you don't feel like you have received detailed instructions from your hospital, have a look at the stickies in the post-op area, search for yourself on the internet, or make an appointment with a dietician as soon as you can. | |

| I had my gastric sleeve operation on the 28th of Oct, the first few day have been fine till I started the puree diet, now I have severe pain where the drain was. I don't know if it is what I am eating but it is only painful when I move, the pain is a kind of stinging/burning sensation. I went back to the hospital and was treated quite badly they told me I was not sticking to the diet but I am, was told I should not be eating fish pie which is mashed potato and fish (puree) in sauce has any one else had a pain like this? | |
