| Oh, how infuriating, uncleluck. Does that mean you will have to delay things? Thank-you so much for pointing this out for the benefit of newcomers. The premiums all go up on April 1 (or as the correspondence says, it is 'CHANGING' - which always means 'INCREASING'), and I guess the PHIs will try and slip these new conditions in under the radar. Grrr. MiddleWoman | |

| I was speaking with someone yesterday whose daughter was looking into the procedure, and she mentioned NIB no longer cover this. I'm with another PHI so I can't confirm if this is true or if that applies to certain levels, might be worth checking if you're with them. | |

| im with NIB top cover and was sleeved last week. So unless they are changing something then its still covered with them.
Always best to do as much research as possible and continue checking throughout the 12 month wait for it to kick in, to make sure you have the right cover when its time.

| I have top hospital NIB and they cover the item number, after a 12mth wait for those already in NIB and 24mths for new members. I was only speaking to NIB about it a couple of weeks ago, to confirm when my 12mths was up. They didnt mention anything about ceasing coverage for the item.
My cost is going up to roughly $47 f/n for top hospital when the fees go up.

| I am with GMHBA also. I had Gold Hospital and Top Essentials. I was stuck in an old package, so I rang to upgrade our dental and it worked out better for us to have Gold+ Hospital and Platinum Essentials. I did read that Bariatric Surgery was only available under the Gold Hospital. It is bad that you received the wrong info when you joined. I have been with GMHBA since 2003 and HBF prior to that. GMHBA has been fantastic and has better rebates than HBF for Extras. HBF is great with SJOGH as they cover nearly everything. Overall GMHBA are a better fund in my opinion. | |
