- Hi All,
Im relatively new to the forum, Ive been lurking in the shadows reading rather than posting !
I am 6 weeks post op and I am a little apprehensive, well I lie, TOTALLY scared of transitioning over to a solid diet. I had quite a bit of trouble transitioning from purees to soft solids ( nausea, vomitting, heaps of gas ) and I really don't want to go through the same this time round. Ive also been having some issues with bowel movements and dumping syndrome, which I am still overcoming.
So, I guess, Im just looking for any tips and advice to help me transition along to the next phase of my recovery. Any help and suggestions / tips will be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks again ! I was four weeks post op on Wednesday and am also really scared about going to solid food......I did find ( which works for me) the weight watcher cottage pie.....it is really mushy and gives me what I need.....I also get veg juice at this shop at work.....they juice up what ever you want so I use spinach, carrot ect.....so I get thos vitamins .....I have found it really helps.....I was like you so sick ....but I have also had a very sensitive tum......let me know how you go because I only have 1.5 weeks to go....... :) xx

| Hi,i think the liquid forms at this stage are absorbed a lot quicker and i would tend to stay on those rather than go onto any other food options early,is is not worth the risk. What your body does not use or need will get flushed out of your system normally with all your liquids.Hope this helps for you. | |

| Hey Sassyjane,
I am currently taking two chewable multivitamins per day as recommended by my surgeon and dietician, so I am getting my vitamins in. I do have a liquid multi vitamin as a back up for when I run out. Do the liquid multi vitamins work better than the chewable ones ?

| Hi Elenis, have you tried the liquid vitamins ? there is a womens liquid one you get from the chemist plus you can get iron in liquid form and that is usually good enough to get you through to the time you can get more solids in.If you can take liquid vitamins which is a much safer option than risking any damage at a too early a stage, you can also get them in a powder form and add them to liquids and mushies. | |

| Hey Enough is Enough,
I got told because of the trouble Im having with my bowels at the moment, that I need to transition now so that my body is getting more nutrients and vitamins etc that it needs.
A little scary though. I was actually in tears yesterday regretting the entire operation !
