| Hi everyone. I live near bribie island qld, and looking at having a sleeve done. I have had a band for 26 years and it really didn't help me at all.will need to get this removed also.I am on top cover with medibank but will have to wait until the end of june for the one year time period. I really need to know who would be a good surgeon and have reasonable prices as I am on a pension and money is tight. I need this as I have been overweight forever, bad hips and back due to my weight and have been dieting since the age of 5.
also when would i get the ball rolling as i would like it done as soon after june as possible. thanks for any info Eels xxx

| Hi Eels, you may need to contact some surgeons' rooms and ask about costs, or maybe see if your GP can refer you to someone who's not too expensive. I went with George Hopkins at Chermside but I believe he is one of the more expensive ones. Try Dr Greenslade at Greenslopes, I understand he's very good and his costs are lower that Dr Hopkins. Good luck! | |

I used Justin Greenslade, Greenslopes Private Hospital
He is the cheapest surgeon in Brisbane I believe.
His Office Phone No. 33240015, pls ring Brenda his Office Manager and she will put you in the right direction.
If you go to Justin Greenslades messges I did post some prices there that will give you some idea.

| Hiya Maxie,
I haven't seen Val around for a while - I suspect she might be on Holidays. So to answer you questions .. He did both Vals' Gastric Band and then it's removal and he then did her Sleeve.
I know she loves Dr Greenslade's work and cannot speak highly enough of him or Brenda his office manager.
I think she was in Hosptital for either 2 or 3 nights.
As for me a total Greenslade groupie !! He has operated on me 4 times and seriously is just THE BEST !!
I was in for 2 nights (probably should have stayed 3).
Not sure about current costs. Give Brenda a call and see what she quotes you . PH -3324 0015
All the best with your research. Tara

| Hi everyone yep been lurking in the Background
Yep Justin Greenslopes is the best. I am in my 50's, so I guess I had done a fair bit of research.
After meeting the loverly Justin, just new he was right for me.
Yep had the band first, OMG what a disaster (my fault as that was only thing I knew about). After continual probelms and in and out of hospital., I bit the bullet and had my band removed.
8 weeks later the Sleeve.
1 Year later Tummy tuck and Breast Reduction - 17th July - Inner thigh reduction.
I was only in hospital 2 sleeps, but if is there are any problems, ypu will get the best care ever.
I am not sure now what he charges.
My advise please ring Brenda his Office Manager and get an up to date price.
All the best for the future
Val

| haha i am a greenslade groupie too!! Cannot speak highly enough of that man :) AMAZING! I was in for 3 days, one night my temperature got too high so he came back to the hospital to check on me! (you could tell he had just showered!) I think I paid less than $1500 for everything as far as my memory serves me! | |
