| OMG I'm so sick of hearing "we need to fulfil the legislation and there's no way around it". So I've now had the Dr's letter written for the third time which has been written word for word for what the Human Services have demanded, I now have an updated quote from the QE2 hospital and a new quote from my surgeon (because they have taken so long my letters I had sent 6 months ago became out dated), my wifes sorted out the affidavit regarding our finances and the camper trailer explenation......I'm going to scan it all in the next few day's and email it before Friday.......FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!!! Further to this I spoke to the accessor within Human Services and he actually had a brain and offered some fantastic direction to which I have followed. My biggest concern now is that I'm hoping to have the Human Services dilema sorted out soon because my operation has been booked for the 25th June & my pre-op is about 1 week prior to that, I'm concerend that once it's all sorted out the Super Fund might not process my request soon enough!! Ah well wait & see I guess. - suzyhomemaker wrote:

Have you rung and asked to speak to the person in charge of your case? Demand some clarification. The thing that shat me off so much was when I questioned them their answer was always "we need to fulfil the legislation and there's no way around it".
Good luck! | |

| I feel your pain mate. I had the same problems....When I filled my forms out that take into account all the money that comes in both you and your partners (if you have one). Make sure when you list the expenses its for the whole family not just you. I had the same letter....It took me to send in three different things and my sister hassling them for me for mine to be approved...
Good Luck

| So far I've sent them 2 different letters from my Dr and have been knocked back both times, yet again on Friday 9th 2012 I received a letter saying I now need to clarify via an affidavit signed by a JP why I have $$$ per month left over and if they provide me with the money why can't I pay the money back or contribute to the procedure......umm let's see if I have this straight I've been paying Super for over 20yrs I've asked for a small amount of money to extend the length of my life then they want me to payback my money? The other amusing thing is I'd like to know how they've come up with the dollar figure they have that states I have all of this apparent disposable income, if I'd had that money I'd flaming well save up and get the operation done!!!!! Up until yesterday I was fairly certain I was going to give up however I've 100% changed my mind & remain committed to obtaining this money. The other thing they have said is I have a really old camper trailer that I take my family away in on holidays they've asked why can't I sell this "asset" to contribute......... - suzyhomemaker wrote:

| You definitely have to dot the i's and cross the t's, and then provide a written statement if yours differs from their boxes. And the doc has to word their bit correctly, too - had to go back and get mine to do it again, as she didn't listen to what I'd told her, so I printed out what it said, and she changed it.
Good luck! | |
