| Hi, I had a white tongue for about a week after surgery. It just resolved itself - I didn't take anything for it. I vaguely remembered reading other posts about it so was not too worried. Actually it was really funny. My surgeon makes you drink blue gatorade only for 24hrs post-op (to check for leaks in drain). It turned my white coating vivid blue for days. I looked like a blue tongue lizard! | |

| I've also got the white-coated tongue after my op (11/1/11) - it's disgusting, I know. Nilstat drops will help - I'm taking them 4 times a day (1 ml applied directly to tongue each day). You can buy over the counter too. All the best, K. | |

| My aunt swears by chewing some pineapple. It works, but nilstat probably would too, or probiotics.
Hope you are getting around okay:-)

| Could potentially be oral thrush after getting antibiotics during surgery - you could try some Nilstat. You can get a coated tongue and bad breath just from being in ketosis also. | |
