PostSubject: Re: Nausea   Nausea EmptyMon 26 Jul 2010, 11:00 am

Sami... have you checked with your surgeon re: nausea.... he may have to adjust your anti-reflux meds to another brand or increase the dose. Also a gastroscopy would be a good idea.....
I only get nausea if I eat something fatty or too sugary.... nausea big time!... I don't get reflux at all.
Take care and let us know how you go!

Haven't really had opti post op apart from the liquids phase but then I was expecting nausea cos I was only just out of surgery. It totally sucks being nauseous ! I'm hoping the opti will help me !

Sami -
Does opti only keep you from feeling the nausea? Is it only real food that causes it to start?

Let us know how you're doing.

Good luck. It's my nightmare especially since the surgeon has specifically warned me he's seen it happen.

Yes I am desperate and pathetic does not become me I'm afraid !!!

After much deliberation today I've decided I'm going back on opti tomorrow. 3 shakes a day and a good multivitamin and it's nutritionally complete so I won't have to worry about that.

Should help with some quick loss as well- my birthday is coming up soon. Tee hee hee ! Nausea 914206

Oh man, you ARE desperate!! Hahah - I've thought about it too, if only for the protein intake. But I just can't stand the thought of it. Good luck to you if you do it!

It's very unpleasant, isn't it? I have days where I can't keep a thing down! I've had to take time off work for it too. On a good note, surely it's good for weight loss? (Actually, I don't really think so - not doing miracles for mine!)

Nausea Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nausea   Nausea EmptyMon 19 Jul 2010, 12:09 pm

I have to wonder...
a) There IS a lot of gastro going around at the moment. However,
b) I was having trouble with my tummy before the surgery... maybe the sleeve masked something that just never went away...

Usually if I have gastro, I HAVE it! There's no maybe about it!

Chrisbychick, the last time I had sex I was pregnant with my 8yo daughter... I don't think pregnancy's going to be an issue with me!!! (hmm - something oddly disturbing about the the words sex, pregnant and daughter in the same sentence...)

Well, I got some maxolon tonight, and the tablets are so big they'll make me chuck anyway! I'll just keep going and see a doctor if need be. I've always found nausea to be quite debilitating (I had to leave work early today).

Thanks for the ideas guys!!

Yeah, I had the same issue - but it was a tummy bug, and unrelated to the sleeve. Oh, and ask Issi - she was sick for ages, and it turned out she was pregnant! LOL Perhaps you'd best check up on that one too? LOL

ssjad if you have not been taking meds for nausea and stopped them all of a sudden then I would say it sounds more like you have picked up a bug.

Nausea coming on this far out unless for an hour or so induced from huge sugar or fat hit is pretty much unheard of. The other thing to check would be see if a quick ease takes it away or reduces it. If it does at all then talk to your surgeon about adjusting your reflux meds.

PostSubject: Nausea   Nausea EmptySun 18 Jul 2010, 11:13 am

Okay, I'm one month down the track and aside from very early post-op nausea, and reflux for which I'm taking medication I've been very well. Until yesterday. I've had two days of terrible nausea. Don't want to go out in public nausea. It's not a huge deal - I can get some maxolon from work tomorrow. I'm just wondering why it's happening this far down the track.

Has anyone else had this?
