I've just been eating a recipe very very close to this from the cookbook "Cooking with Kurma". It really saved me as I've been unable to tolerate dairy and couldn't get any protein in.
I whizzed and then strained.
A couple of suggestions/variations:
Add a pinch of asafoetida (don't get it on your fingers, it smells foul but does not adversely affect the taste although it is a spice). This spice stops lentils from giving you gas (which is the last thing we need ATM).
Kurma's full recipe also includes spinach and I intend to add this AFTER I stop taking the anti-clotting injections (as spinach is full of vitamin K which you're not supposed to have whilst on that stuff).
