| Thanks for the good suggestion, the only trouble I see with recumbents is that they are not seen well by cars, even with a flag and the rider wearing a fluro vest. This makes it unpleasent/dangerous to share the road.

| Peter - recumbent bikes are good because they come with very wide seats. :)

| I used to love cycling, but now I can't seem to find a seat that is comfortable enough to use for more than a few minutes. I even bought one of those gel seats, but doesn't really help. Maybe I should look at it from the other way and try to add wheels to my sofa Any suggestions? Peter. | |

| Hey, Denise, you're doing really well - I can't believe you're up to 4000 km already. By the time you get here, you'll be able to start training for the London Olympics! Chris | |

| My nazi PT Paul 'the assasin' told me each time I ride the bike to ride for the same amount of time but try and go a bit further each time - so I'm pedalling faster..... | |

| That's cool, that means I've done 16.09kms (10 miles) altogether. Perth to Sydney only 4127.91 to go. that means I'm coming last, so better peddle faster to catch up. | |

| Hey hey,
I am trying to track down a milage converter so that I can embed it into the site on the 'Weight loss Calculator' thread. It has a BMR and a BMI so adding a Pounds to kilo converter and a Milage/km convert will be useful too. If anyone knows of any, please let me know. Hayley

| Hi all
Thought I would give the exercise bike a bit of a go as well, you guys inspired me. I was watching the olympic men's cycling on the tele so thought I would give it a go while watching them. Managed to do 5 miles (it's an old bike and is in miles rather than kms) in about 25 minutes so thought that wasn't too bad. Repeated it again the next day when watching the women's cycling. But I must say the bum got a bit sore, the legs were fine.
Does anybody know the conversion from miles to kms?

| For those who have not got a bike yet I can not recomend enough recumbent bikes as they have seats like office chairs and you step onto them so no sore bum. for those who already have their bikes you can get gel seats or big bottom girls seats as my sister calls them. these are wider gel seats that should fit any exercise or normal bike. She got hers at KMart for about $30 from memory. It saved her butt over and over again.

| Good on you Nicole. You might have stiff legs tomorrow. Yesterday I got the hand mower out and spent 2 and a half hours mowing the lawns and thought I'd be in agony today but I'm not too bad. Maybe I'll feel it tomorrow. But what I did get was a big blister on one of my hands and a smaller one on the other. Ouch! steph | |
