PostSubject: Mr Krishna Epari   Mr Krishna Epari EmptySat 14 Aug 2010, 7:16 am

This is the surgeonI have chosen to do my surgery on 30/8/10, I chose him after being to see 4 other surgeons in Perth (one of which reminded me of a used car sales man very showy/flashy and wanted to be my best friend Mr Krishna Epari 595690 ). I found him to be very knowledgeable and not shy of answering my question (2x A4 pages full) did I also mention very patient as I then wrote down all his responses!. Some of the questions I asked him where how many patient of your have experienced complications minor or major after having this procedure preformed ( his respone was that none of his patients have had any minor or major complications and that none have had any arise as a result of the surgery being preformed, that he infact has been called in to help after complications arose during another surgeons surgery ( always nice knowing that the surgeon doing your surgery is the one called in to fix others problems very reassuring acupuncture ).

His fees have gone up since thae last time someone posted about him so I have put his new shedualed fees below

Procedure Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
Item No Fee
105 Professional attendance by specialist $40.60
30518 Partial gastrectomy $3,633.30
30390 Laparoscopy, diagnostic $103.95
51303 Assistant at operation $486.66

Total Fee $4,264.51
Estimated Rebate from Medicare/PHI $1,246.51
Out of pocket costs $3,000.00

Please be aware this is for the operation only and the services provided by Dr Epari this is not including the anaesthetists fee or the appointments leading up to the surgery by the bariatric assessor or the dietician.

For anyone contemplating this type of surgery I would urge you to go and see Dr Epari as you will find him to be a very knowledgable person that dosn't look down on you or treat you like an idiot ( even if your GP dosn't support you going in for this type of surgery as mine dosn't, If its not an emergency life threating situation my GP dosn't believe it is a valid reason for surgery). He is also good about having a low BMI mine is just hovering at 33, but i have a history of higher weight and complications eg PCOS, gestational diabetes, back pain.

Hi Lisa,

Dr Epari's gap is $2500, Yes you have to have gastroscopy to ensure that your stomach doesn't have ulcers etc before the surgery.
If you have private health insurance, your gastroscopy will be covered by your insurance.

I don't think they are restricted to someone with BMI over 40, mine is a little bit under, I do have health problem though :) but do make an appointment with Dr Epari it's allllllll WORTH it.

I would say all in all the out of pocket will be around $3500 - (Including blood test, dietitian, bariatric doctor, and first & second consultation with Dr Epari) - Note: they you can claim them on Medicare too, but not all of them :)
Hope I help you a bit.
Do ask more questions if you like :) or you can email me to get a response faster :)

Hi new to this!
Want my hubby to have a sleeve under Krisna at Murdoch. Want to know anyones opinion on his surgery, how long did you have to wait for the op and how much out of pocket all up!
Does he make you have a gastroscopy before hand?
Are they strict on the >40 BMI.
Ok thanks
Lisa

Krishna did my endoscopy on behalf of my surgeon Dr Thomas because they work from the same office. He is really nice and everything went well so if I had a problem with my surgeon I definately would have gotten a referral for him. Mr Krishna Epari 65317

This is the surgeon that is doing my operation on the 25th Sept and he is absolutely lovely. He doesn't make you feel inferior or looked down on when you go see him unlike some doctors i have been too!
