| In the end it is up to your surgeon. I would imagine it depends on whether a BMI of 30 is you at your low point in the yoyo or a normal BMI for you.
IMO (non medical), if your BMI regularly goes above 35 and you are currently at your low point, then now is a great time to get it done as the lighter you are the safer it is.
If this is your highest point, then no I don't think your weight justifies the risk.
I ended up having to gain weight to get the surgery. daft really. | |

| Hi guys
I have been reading up on the gastric sleeve procedure.
I am a real yo yo dieter - it effects me every day. It is such a struggle. I feel with commitment and hard work this could be the answer in maintaining a healthy weight.
I have a BMI of 30. The infomoration I have read is for BMIs over 40. I would get the procedure done privately at my expense.
My question is, am I candidate for this surgury with a BMI of 30?
Any help would be most appreiated.
Thanks | |
