Sorry I'm finding it hard to work this site..... lol
I'm wondering if anyone here has traveled over seas for their sleeve?
And if so where did they go and what was it like??
Cheers ;-) I personally don't know any Aussies who have, but a lot of Americans travel to Mexico. Apparently, some of the surgeons there have state of the art facilities, private hospitals and have done more procedures than anyone other surgeons. There is another site, vertical sleeve talk, that has a section on going abroad for surgeries (primarily about mexico). I think here it isn't as common because PHI covers the majority of the costs and/or you can access superannuation. I do know some people who go to Thailand etc for cosmetics though. They aren't bariatric patients so they go for cosmetic purposes. I don't know of any bariatric facilities there though.

| I had one on one consults with both Dr Kuzinkovas and Dr Jorgensen.
I have heard positive feedback on both in terms of their technical skill. But in terms of warmth, genuine interest and great interpersonal skills, Dr Kuzinkvoas won hands down! Dr K also sees you about a week post op where I would have to wait to see Dr J until week 3 post op. I didn't feel like I could open up to Dr J if I were to have problems or concerns, but I felt like Dr K was very approachable. I'm having surgery with Dr Kuzinkovas on 27/3/12.

| A no brainer, Dr Roy Brancatisano all the way. He does extra stuff other surgeons don't do.....worth his weight in gold. | |

| I have to put in a good word for Dr Taylor and his amazing staff as well. He puts his patients at ease and you can tell by the way he describes and explains everything that he truly cares about his patients. I travelled about 700km from country NSW to see Dr Taylor and it was most definitely worth it. He and his staff are very helpful and friendly. | |

| I also had Dr Taylor at the OClinic. Do a google and check out the website. I live on the south side of Sydney and still went to Dr Taylor in Crows Nest and had the surgery at the Mater, though they do surgery also at Concord...
Great doctor, put me at ease, answered every question and the his staff at the clinic are amazing!

| Hi Andrew, Try Dr Kuzinkovas and Dr Talbot at Kogarah. They are both excellent. I had Dr Kuzinkovas do my sleeve last September and it was the best decision I have ever made. I had no complications and have gone from good to great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with your decision. Come along to some of the get togethers and talk to some of us who have already been sleeved and it might make your decision easier.

| Hello Andrew and welcome to GSS :-)
I saw a few doctors in and around the Sydney area and my choice was Dr Taylor at the Oclinic.
I was sleeved last September and he has totally changed my life and things are amazing now after only seven months!
Feel free to message me and I will send you my mobile number and you are more than welcome to call and I can give you as much info as you need.
Best of luck
MrVinyl
Ps. There is a sleevers meeting coming up in June in Sydney, it's well worth going along and chatting to other people who have had the operation.
