| I was also sleeved by Dr Cohen this month and have found him and his team great so far. As Loubylou says he isnt 'touchy feely' but was very patient with me and very informative. He gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions and spoke well to me. Was great after op with my first checkup, sat on my bed and asked me how I was feeling etc and asked if there was anything I was needing. He was recommended to me by my Gp and I had every confidence in him. | |

| My first appt with Jon was in March and then my op was May, but I also asked for around school holidays and I don't live in perth so it probably could have been heaps sooner except I had lots of organising to do. Good luck again x | |

| I was sleeved by Dr Alan Thomas September 2009. He is a wonderful caring doctor and answers his emails personally which I thought was lovely. I thoroughly recommend him. He also did my two girlfriends November 2010. | |

| I was sleeved by Doctor Cohen on 2nd June. I have no complaints and have had a pretty good recovery. He is not a "touchy feely, beside manner" type of Doctor. He is all business and very professional. He was extremely patient with me at my initial consultation and follow-ups pre-surgery and committed a lot of time to answering my very long lists of questions which put me at ease. I went into surgery feeling very well informed, confident and with no fear whatsoever. He just seems like the type of person that really knows what he's doing.
He turned up exactly when he said he would post surgery to check on me and was very gentle when checking my wounds at post op appointment (2 weeks after surgery). He has been doing this type of surgery for a very long time and I felt very confident about having him as my surgeon. He has had lots of contact with my GP, keeping her appraised of my recovery by letter and she was glad that I had selected him as my surgeon as she had heard very good things about him.
Good luck with selecting a surgeon - I believe that all of the 3 you mentioned have excellent reputations but I'll think you'll find that Jon Armstrong is a runaway favourite on this website!

| I went to an information seminar last night at Mercy Bariartics reagarding weight loss surgery and it just confirmed to me that I want to get sleeved. I really didnt get much interaction with Dr Cohen as he was presenting the information, but found him ok, however, as this is a really big step I was wanting to hear from other members here in Perth that have looked into these surgeons and what their thoughts were. I understand that everyone is different and who you feel comfortable with I may not, but would still like to hear your experiences. Thanks so much! | |

| Most of those names, if not all, you have listed are not surgeon's...... I work for one of them so I know... most of them are gastroenterologist's... not surgeons who do the sleeve. | |

| Hi there I was operated on by Jon Armstrong at St John of god in Subi. It cost me 4,800 for Jon out of that I will get a rebate of about 1,200 cannot recommend him highly enough. My gap payment for the anaesthesiest was 900. I had no out of pocket expenses from the hospital and it was wonderful they could not do enough to help. We have top table with gmf . Hope this helps Sunnie : )) | |

| Hey
The hard thing is some dr's in perth wont touch others work ( band ).
Im having a sleeve on thursday with Dr Epari. He is really nice and so is his business partner Thomas.
Best thing is to ring and talk to Lisa or Toni and ask if they do gallbladder's. My cousin works in the op rooms said these two guys are the best Dr's working at murdoch.
phone number 93347555
Best of luck | |

| Hi, I am trying to find a surgeon that does the following? who would you recommend?
I have to have my gallbladder removed, and in the process I would like my band removed and eventually it replaced with a sleeve.
I am not 100% sure, but I think my lapband surgeon (Kevin Dolan) doesn't do the sleeve?
Thanks | |

| Hi Pottampuss, I was sleeved March 2010 by Dr Padovan @ The Mount Hospital but he has rooms in Rockingham (Waikiki Private Hospital)which is closer to you. I have now been at my goal weight for six months and lost 70kgs in total. I found him to be very understanding and sympathetic and hoping to have him do the tummy tuck soon. I was type II diabetic not any more. Couldn't have asked for a better surgeon and his team are great. Out of pocket expenses were $5,000 plus anaesthetist fee. BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE and BEST DOCTOR!!! GOOD LUCK | |

| Well I've just sent him an email with my dilemma of moving to remote WA and having a perfectly working band taken out and a sleeve done, as I have said on another thread, the band is working perfectly but being so far away from an kind of medical facility is bothering me, I am now sitting at 70kg from 110kg so I have lost 40kg but as I said I shall be a long way from Perth if I get a major blockage. | |

| Hi, I saw only yesterday that there was a dr, who gave a certain amount of his time at a public hospital, he was French I think or had studied there, but this dr (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) was UK & aus approved. I found him through google. Good luck, I'm going to try & find him again for you. But there are definitely public surgeons. Don't give up hope yet! | |
