| Hi everyone,
I've decided to get WLS (sleeve), but have no idea where to begin.
I'll be getting PHI ASAP, but I'm not sure what I need.
I have a Drs appt on Monday to discuss this.
What kind of preparation do I need? I'm thinking of going with Medibank private, but am not sure if I need extras, what excess etc..
Many thanks. | |

| Hi there slowlysinking, I am with Medibank, basic hospital and smart choice extras. My out of pocket expenses are $6682.00 on a total of $16330.00 I am guessing if you took higher hospital and extras cover you may pay less of a gap. It will also depend on what fees your Dr charges as they are cheeper generally in the bigger cities. All the best with your journey. | |

| Welcome and congrats on deciding to get the sleeves.... With regards your private health.... ring up Medibank Private if you wish to go with them and ask them what cover do you need for weightloss surgery - item no is 30511 (check with your surgeon though as this may have changed)
You don't need extra's unless you want them for dentist/glasses etc.
Good luck - but have a good read on here, as there is a wealth of info for you! | |
